In his valedictory speech to the Malta Employers Association’s annual general meeting yesterday evening, Arthur Muscat – who will stand down as the association’s president – said that “it is not commendable for Malta to introduce, within the EU legal environment, a Media and Defamation Bill that derives its inspiration from legislation in countries which have extremely dubious free-information credentials”.

Parliament will debate the Media and Information Bill, which is promoted by Justice Minister Owen Bonnici, whose girlfriend is a propagandist in the employ of the Labour Party, on 27th March.
