Planning Authority executive chairman at Silvio Debono’s wedding anniversary party
Johann Buttigieg, the Planning Authority’s executive chairman, was at a party at the Hotel San Antonio last night to celebrate Silvio Debono’s 25th wedding anniversary.
Debono is already selling non-existent flats in two non-existent towers, to be built on public land for which he hasn’t yet paid, and for which he has yet to obtain planning permission, in an area which is outside the scheduled zone for tower-flats, and where planning permission would mean that the Planning Authority has gone against its own policy.
Kevin Buttigieg, director of real-estate agency Remax, which is one of those selling Debono’s as-yet fictitious St George’s Bay flats, was asked about this in an interview published in the Times of Malta’s business pages a few days ago. He responded that he is sure Debono wouldn’t be selling the ‘flats’ already if he didn’t have “verbal assurance” that he will be given planning permission.
Malta’s head of state and her husband Edgar Preca were also guests at Debono’s anniversary party yesterday.
