The Labour Party’s electoral campaign war-chest is the public purse
In 2013, the Labour Party had a bottomless war-chest filled by donors who queued up to trade money for favours and contracts once the party got into government.
This year, the Labour Party need not bother taking money from corrupt operators, Maltese and non-Maltese, to pay for its adverts all over the internet, billboards, videos and other campaign collateral, because it has full and unimpeded access to the public purse, which really is bottomless as far as they are concerned.
The adverts which are supposedly boasting about government policy are actually promoting the Labour Party. No government is ever justified in spending taxpayers’ money to boast about what it has done. These are Labour Party campaign adverts and they’re all over the internet and revving up with every passing week. Anybody who still thinks the general election is not going to be held this year is living in a dream world.
