UNESCO categorises Malta with Arab States

Despite its membership of the European Union, Malta has been categorised by UNESCO with the Arab states.

The UNESCO list, which includes Malta under the heading ‘Arab States’, begins: The Arab States region presented here follows the specific UNESCO definition which does not forcibly reflect geography. It refers to the execution of regional activities of the Organization.
