It is they who are liars
Joseph Muscat, Konrad Mizzi and Keith Schembri have been flinging themselves all over the media over the past few days, saying that they are suing me for libel, that they have asked for the cases to be heard with urgency, and challenging me to accept that they be heard with urgency.
They then moved immediately from that to saying that I am a coward and a liar because I didn’t accept that the cases be heard with urgency.
All this rubbish was repeated by the Labour trolls, who pick up their arguments like automatons, all over the comments boards and social media. I got people popping in and mocking and insulting me for being too scared to have the cases heard with urgency.
My reaction? That the deliberate abuse and manipulation of people’s ignorance, by the leading lights of the Labour Party, remains as bad today as it was in the 1970s.
It is not up to the parties to decide on whether a case is heard with urgency or not. It is entirely the magistrate’s decision. When one of the parties petitions the court to hear a case with urgency, it is not up to the other party to agree, but up to the magistrate.
Muscat, Mizzi and Schembri all know this, and their lawyers will certainly have briefed them – but still they spread the lies and propaganda about me.
When you’re making so much hay, anybody who opposes you is Public Enemy No. 1 – and Malta has to endure the ugliness of having a Prime Minister, his chief of staff and a cabinet minister lying about and publicly insulting journalists who hold them accountable. They are so vile.
