On 19 April last year, after surviving a vote of no confidence in parliament, a smug and cocky Joseph Muscat said, “It is clear that this government will keep going until the end of its proper term in office.”
You can hear him say it in the video here.
A year later, and almost a year short of the end of that proper term, he has called a general election in a panic, while his government is still responsible for the EU Presidency, which has been completely abandoned.
So what happened? Ask that question, because it all hinges on the answer as to what Muscat is hiding from us now.
