This person has just discharged 3 live rounds in our streets. Why is he standing alone making a phone call? Why isn’t he being held and his mobile phone taken away from him?

Was this call made before or after he was tested for drugs and alcohol and his rights read out to him?

  8. simca says:

not sure if this line of thinking has been made already but:

1: who had prepared the first doctored version/statement?

    2: who supplied the details?

3: were these details double checked before the statement went out?

4: who gave the final go ahead to issue statement?

5: was Manwel Mallia aware of the content of the first statement BEFORE it went out?

  9. Mark Fenech says:

Well, let’s put it this way. The discharge of live rounds in our streets was a relatively common occurrence in the 70s and 80s.

Violent incidents provoked by fanatical Labour supporters in places like Rabat, Tal-Barrani, Gudja, Tarxien (among others) immediately spring to mind.

Some people are probably having bouts of nostalgia for those dark days.

    Why is he so short?

  14. Gorg Mizzi says:

Because he is Manuel’s security driver. That’s why. For shame, sir.

  15. wenzu says:

Why isn’t he being held and his mobile phone taken away from him?

What a stupid question, because he is one of the Taghna Lkollers.

  16. Il-fuq mil-ligi says:

And why has he not yet been charged with attempted murder?

  17. Ma jisthux! says:

This is the same “arja” that thugs like him used to go around with in the Golden Years, unfortunately it goes hand in hand with Labour in power.

Scum, the lot of them – it’s like watching a circus.

  18. The Mole says:

Pending the magisterial enquiry, why is this (possible) suspect out on the streets, where he can tamper with evidence and witnesses?

  19. the box says:

Maybe since the police and co on site are his friends.

  20. Don Camillo says:

Simply because the characteristics of totalitarian states are protection of state police and criminals; control of the media, control of security services, unfettered corruption, fabrication and tampering including removal of evidence, terror, patronage of the population – all signs that the present government has.

Because this is what all those switchers wanted.

  22. edgar says:

Because his boss is a criminal…lawyer.

  23. Francis Saliba M.D. says:

“Why isn’t he being held and his mobile phone taken away from him?”

The answer is simple. Because this is the descendant of the same MLP force that had in its possession the murder weapon used in the political murder of Raymond Caruana and instead of preserving that crucial evidence and having it examined scientifically before tampering with that evidence actually planted it in the farmhouse of Pietru Paul Busuttil in an unsuccessful attempt to frame him with a murder of which he was totally innocent.

That’s right, the gun actually belonged to Steve Morrison Smith.

Paul Sheehan disarmed him and in the brawl a shot accidentally went off hitting the car three times.

The gun will eventually be found in a search of the offices of Waterbus International Ltd.

  24. Toni says:

Obvious isn’t it? The Boss phoned him to check that he is well. You know when you fire shots in the air they tend to fall down and maybe hit you in the head.

  25. bob-a-job says:

‘This person has just discharged 3 live rounds in our streets’

How do we know it was just 3 live rounds?

All we really know is that three bullets found their target.

Has anyone checked the gun to varify how many rounds were in fact discharged?

Don’t the police have to audit every shot fired anymore?

  27. Lizz says:

Q: What was Sheehan telling Mallia on the phone?

    A: “Onorevoli, sheehanzir kissirlek il-mera’ tal-karozza”.
