Just like he voted Yes to EU membership…or so he says and none of us believe him.

Yes, the European Commission is against hunting birds in the spring (the breeding season) and has banned the practice throughout the European Union, which is why it is possible in Malta only through a special derogation.

Il-Guy’s response to the press question of how he will vote was “I can’t say because I am a Commissioner now and these things come up before me.” Well, he never was the sharpest knife in the drawer, was he, and in that role he is utterly clueless.

The proper response would have been: “I am voting No, of course. I am a European Commissioner and the Commission of which I form part is firmly against spring hunting.”

Is Karmenu Vella doing the job of an EU Commissioner or is he just baby sitting in Brussels?

Jeffrey is as tiny as Karmenu.

Another falsehood being bandied about by the “yes” lobby is that spring hunting happens elsewhere in Europe so why not Malta.

I was at my local butcher and he was adamant that this is true and happens in Sicily. Is it possible that Italy also has a derogation? If not then of course the hunting that is going on in Sicily is illegal.

This point also needs also to be clarified by the “No” lobby.

Ma tarax li l-Guy ser jiddikjara ruhu kontra dak li qal: His Great, Big Master Joseph who gave him such a perk in Brussels.

I wonder what the PL and PN MEPs have to say about the spring hunting issue now both their respective masters were such huge fools in declaring how they will be voting in the manner they did. Any MEP with courage enough to gainsay their leaders?

Hang on. I’ll ask Metsola. She usually forthcoming.

As for Alfred Sant, forget it. He’s currently inhabiting such rarefied heights of intellectual detachment that the very pixies in the sky are using his wig as a tent.

Is it me, or the info from the NO campaign has not yet been forthcoming? And this apart from incoherent messages trying to be put thru by members, who ultimately are showing that this campaign is an ego boost for their political career.

Definitely not a united front up till now…..

“…these things come up before me.”

What things? Has he started taking Viagra since he became commissioner?

    • ciccio says:

These things are going to come up before him again when he comes to overhaul the Birds Directive, as promised when he was approved as Commissioner.

How will he be deciding on “these things” then, or is the Commissioner planning to abstain from taking decisions?
