What a relief it was to read this.

Malta backs efforts for permanent Gaza ceasefire

The Foreign Ministry said today that Malta fully supported efforts for a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and for immediate humanitarian aid to the victims. In a statement, the ministry said Malta continued to be deeply concerned at the ongoing fighting in Gaza, in particular the suffering and anguish of the civilian population in the region. “As a matter of utmost urgency, there must be an unconditional halt to rocket attacks by Hamas on Israel and an end to Israeli military action. Violence and military options are not the solution,” the ministry said. “Malta fully supports international efforts to find an immediate solution to the crisis and the establishment of a permanent ceasefire. In parallel, immediate humanitarian action is required and Israel must grant immediate unhindered and secure passage for the delivery of the humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip.” It said the solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict must be based on the process set out in Annapolis and in accordance with the terms of reference of the Madrid Conference, in particular land for peace, the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and the Quartet’s roadmap.

Yes, the Palestinians should realise that they were wrong to elect Hamas to govern them. They should revert to Arafat’s Al Fatah; they should proceed willy-nilly, obeying the dictat of their overlords and never take up arms to defend what’s left of their country. The Khazars are tough people – you should never thwart them, especially with home-made bombs.

  2. Ganni says:

@kev Why is it that Palestinian-lovers sometimes turn out to be anti-semites more than anything else? Yea sure, Khazars….some people just make an effort to show us what they are.

  3. Kev says:

Oh, the anti-semitic card! How very predictable of you, Ganni. So you are the same Ganni, after all.

  4. Ganni says:

Kev, the Khazar theory is a racialist theory which has been proven wrong through DNA testing. End of story.

  5. kev says:

Don’t play the racist trump card with me, Ganni. This is a political argument. When land is claimed by a people on the basis of ancestry, it is fair to investigte this claim. Besides, I am not the one who came up with this theory. Benjamin Freedman was a very respected gentleman before he started questioning his people’s origins, and what he says sense makes plenty of sense (at least from what I know of the area around the Ukraine, since I lived in Kiev for a year). For me, this is interesting both politically and historically – http://www.themodernreligion.com/jihad/freedman.html

This too is interesting, it’s a letter from one compatriot to another: http://www.iahushua.com/JQ/factsR3.html

Labelling people for their dissenting opinion is tantamount to despotism. Now if you have some interesting DNA info, give us a link.

I have no idea what the Khazars have to do with the Middle East and couldn’t understand why you keep mentioning them. Then you used the word “theory” and I think I know now. It’s a conspiracy isn’t it? The CIA must be somehow involved too. Well keep it up Kev, the truth is out there. Somewhere.

  7. Ganni says:

Morning Kev (and Daphne). To start with, Kev, your sources are blatantly anti-semitic. Here are some bits: “the Judeo-Communist victory of 1945”. Judeo what??? So the good old merciful nazis where defending humanity from Judeo-communists??? Good to know!!! Ara l-vera tikber u titghallem f’dil-hajja. Naqra gherf ohra: “the Jewish tyranny which has enveloped the United States”. Oh yes, those evil Jews. Now, if I wanted to present an anti-semitic theory I wouldn’t show my intentions. But these guys just make it obvious what their intentions are. How damn stupid can some people be? (And no Kev, I’m not saying you’re stupid – the people you get your info from are though).

Kev, if you want to be taken seriously, never make us of such cources to back-up an argument. What’s next? Quoting from the Chronicles of the Elders of Zion?

Now, I know wikipedia is not the best of sources. But than, it’s always better than anti-semitic propaganda.

  8. Kev says:

Antoine Vella – If you “have no idea” it is hardly wise to comment and disparage others. Drivel is cheap. Babble comes cheaper.

[Daphne – Pop a Valium, Kevin. I’m surprised you missed Antoine’s dry tone.]

  9. Kev says:

@ Ganni, it seems the intro gave you enough ammunition to again evade the issue. I am not responsible for the language used in the intro. It is the person who wrote the speech (and the letter) that interests me. Your comment is full of hyperbole, defended solely by reason of political correctness (despotism), clearly citing the ‘anti-Semitic’ warning. Yet you fail to see the wider implications and you especially fail to explain why such a person as Benjamin Freedman should write such things about his own kin’s origins.

If you want to carry on living in a political straight-jacket, then just read those arguments you are conditioned to accept and continue to disparage dissenters with politically correct labels. It’s easy – and you’ll be a ‘good boy’ for doing so.

@Daphne, the apologist – Pop a valium? Antoine’s dry tone? Indeed. Bone dry. If you are surprised, I’m not.

  10. Corinne Vella says:

Go easy, Kevin Ellul Bonici. You sound like a Viva Malta die hard.

  11. Ganni says:

Kev, ok let’s ignore the anti-semitic bit. Let’s just focus on the Khazar theory. This theory has been proved wrong after DNA testing – just read that wikipedia page. And anyway, even if this theory was right, non-Ashkenazi Jews would still be Israelites…

  12. Antoine Vella says:

    Kev
“I am not responsible for the language used in the intro. It is the person who wrote the speech (and the letter) that interests me.”

You should also pay more attention to what is being said, not only to who is saying it. Have you actually read the stuff in your links? Do you believe that in the 1930s Hitler re-armed Germany because he wanted Europe to remain Christian? This is what your article says: “…the Germans had decided that Europe is going to be Christian or Communist: there is no in between. And the Germans decided they were going to keep it Christian if possible. And they started to re-arm.” So that is what Hitler was trying to do, miskin: defend Christianity from the Jews.

As for the history of the ‘Khazar kingdom’, I started reading it and then said to myself: “Hey, wait a minute. Where are the Hobbits? How come there’s no mention of The Shire”? That’s how I know it’s a fake, Kev, because the author is obviously intent on hiding from us the existence of the Halflings (who are actually very short Khazars/Jews).

How can you waste your time reading such rubbish? It’s true then: life in Brussels is mind-numbingly monotonous.

  13. kev says:

Well that seals it I guess, Ganni. Freedman must have been cuckoo. Gone all wrong!

But you don’t have to agree with everything one says to discover interesting gems to investigate, especially when mainstream despotism is so vehement in defending the indefensible. And since you have been so gung-ho against the besieged Palestinian people, I thought you should know what others had to say concerning ancestral claims that form the basis of these atrocities.

After all, these are all theories… but I shouldn’t mention that word as some people are conditioned to associate it with ‘conspiracy’, which merely describes the type of theory.

  14. kev says:

@ Antoine Vella – try looking for the Hobbits inhabiting the tiny box you’re speaking from.

One thing I realise: social conditioning does wonders, especially on those who consider themselves to be The Learned.

[Daphne – Take me, for example, Hobbits, trolls and Lord of the Rings were way beyond my capacity to notice their brilliance. I couldn’t work up any interest as a child, as a teenager or as an adult, for the simple reason that they bore no resemblance to reality. To this day, I won’t read any fiction that doesn’t bear a strong resemblance to reality. But for some strange reason, that antipathy doesn’t extend to films, so even now, I will happily watch children’s films, disaster movies and cartoons, and my difficulty over the last few years is that I haven’t had an acceptable cover for going to new releases of cartoon feature films, so I have to wait until they’re out on DVD. I even watched Teletubbies quite a lot, but I did have a valid reason for that: I was fascinated by the accurate way they reproduced baby-speak and baby-gestures, in such a way as to communicate directly and intensely with toddlers in their own ‘language’. I could never understand why the show was dissed by so many people; it was a brilliant exercise in communication.]

  15. Antoine Vella says:

    Kev

What about the “theory” (that you apparently subscribe to) that Hitler was a victim of the Jews and that they had and still have plans to take over the world? How big is the box that this particular gem is coming from?

  16. Ganni says:

Kev, I’ve got nothing against “Palestinians” (which, if applying the term to all Arabs living under the mandate of Palestine, would include the Jordanians). I think the worst mistake which Israeli politicians ever did was that of occupying Arab lands (maybe with the exception of the Old City) beyond the ’49 armistice boundaries. However, Israel has to fight for its existence. After all, it was Hamas who started this war/battle.

  17. kev says:

@ Antoine Vella – I don’t subscribe to that particular theory, but I would want to know the basis upon which others subscribe to it and why volumes have been written, based on volumes of sources upon sources. Your likes suppress freedom of expression by very disgusting means.

@ Ganni – sure you have nothing against Palestinians. You just love to justify their oppressors’ actions and disparagingly label anyone questioning the basis of claims made on their forebearers’ land. (And by the way, Hamas started, yes? Like when prisoners go on a rampage, you mean?)

  18. Antoine Vella says:

    Kev

You post links to two hysterically anti-semitic webpages thus giving them publicity and disseminating their views. Then you say you don’t subscribe to some of the ideas expressed in those writings but you’re not convincing. You just sound confused.

I hope you realise that your outpourings are embarrassing a prospective candidate for the EP elections. Is that how you want the electorate to refer to her: the one with the loony husband?

  19. kev says:

Antoine Vella – I think your own outpourings are a greater embarassment to your goodself. Can’t you go through an argument without relying on false labels and dastardly warnings concerning third parties? I am my own person, and what people of your ilk think is of little concern to me, but I see what you mean when dealing with grown-up children.
