It has certainly paid Miss Piggy and Kermit to get Malta Today by the short-and-curlies. Just look at the sort of coverage Kermit was getting from that newspaper before the deal to lay off them was struck.

This concerns the inquiry into the Foundation for Tomorrow’s Schools ‘skandlu’.

“It emerges from the list of direct orders issued with Ferrante’s approval that only two orders had not been sanctioned with the Finance Ministry’s approval, namely Siggiewi mayor and architect Robert Musumeci’s two invoices for Lm6,045 and Lm25,000 issued in March 2003, according to a database presented by FTS financial controller Chris Pullicino.” – Malta Today, 9 January 2005

One of the most remarkable direct orders was that conferred to the chairman of the Building Industry Consultative Council architect Robert Musumeci, also mayor of Siggiewi, Louis Galea’s hometown. In March 2003, in the space of less than 30 days, Musumeci was paid Lm14,575, in the form of two direct orders valued at Lm2,500 and Lm12,075, for architectural services rendered to the FTS in March 2003. Musumeci had told MaltaToday there had been a call for an expression of interest in work commissioned by the FTS.” – Malta Today, 19 September 2004
