Robert Musumeci said in an interview (Malta Today, today) that Magistrate Herrera stopped giving him jobs as a court expert months before they started living together.

He avoided the issue of whether she gave him jobs after they had started sleeping together.

She had – several instances have been quoted, chapter and verse, in earlier posts.

But here I have an example of how he got jobs all the same, even when the magistrate stopped giving them directly to him herself.

The ‘Dr Lydia Zerafa’ referred to here is now Dr Lydia Abela, pictured (right) with the magistrate.

I’m not suggesting any wrong-doing. I’m just saying the obvious: that it looks really bad because it comes across as rather too cosy.

Ref 298/2007

Court: Magistrates (Civil) – Malta

Magistrate: Scerri Herrera Consuelo-Pilar

Date of sitting: 08/07/2009

Names: Sciberras Paul Et vs Mizzi Carmelo

(Translated from Maltese): When the case was called, Dr Lydia Zerafa appeared for the plaintiffs. The defendant was without legal assistance. He gave his testimony under oath in cross-examination. Dr Lydia Zerafa exhibited document Z. Dr Joe Sammut showed up at this point.

The parties involved drew the attention of the court to the decree dated 22 June 2009, in which architect and civil engineer Mario Cassar was nominated. They asked for him to be substituted because he was a party to this suit at one point. They suggested that architect and civil engineer Robert Musumeci be appointed in his stead.

The court acceded to their request.

What an orgy they have made of a once-respectable institution!

  2. Tonio Farrugia says:

In the interview, Robert Musumeci says, “I have a private life like everyone else and I expect this to be respected. But I have no hard feelings towards anyone who chose to delve into my personal life for the sake of sensationalism or any other motive unknown to me, and even though many statements were incorrect… life goes on.”

And again: “She is entitled not to endorse me… yet I believe that she crossed the line. I surely do not enjoy reading her blog, especially when the facts are wrong and perceptions go sour.”

BUT he fails to mention which statements were incorrect or which facts were wrong.

He also said he didn’t receive court appointments once his ‘friendship’ became a ‘relationship’. Now for us to believe him, he should tell us when the ‘relationship’ started.
