It's a hell of a lot better than building a wall for Charles Mangion

It's a hell of a lot better than building a wall for Charles Mangion

I guess canny Charles Mangion got cold feet at the prospect of what the word combination Robert-Musumeci-farmhouse-Fawwara can do to one’s peace of mind.

The application would have been withdrawn around the time Robert’s other client, Victor Scerri, was getting it in the neck.

Panda Farmhouse is built on two floors and is huge. The interesting point is that Dr Mangion got the permit when Labour was in government (1996-98) and no one said anything. Where were the ramblers? Astrid Vella? Friends of the Earth? Alan Deidun? Julia Farrugia?

To get there, take the road to Siggiewi, and keep on moving until you get a glimpse of a huge farmhouse with slopes behind it, and the sea at the back. And to think that Louis Galea had three rooms nearby and he got fried for them.

It would be interesting to see how MEPA can and could justify the farmhouse?

    • ALAN DEIDUN says:

A Zammit – you are as misinformed and misguided as always – I have tackled this issue as well, in bygone times, when your supposedly green credentials were still in embryonic stage – check your facts before rushing to comment.

[Daphne – It wasn’t Anne Zammit.]

    • ALAN DEIDUN says:

The cherry on the cake is when you place me in the same kettle of fish with Julia – why don’t you rummage through articles dating back to the MEP campaign? Blinkered as ever.

    • patrick says:

I wonder why the FAA don’t rush to Panda Farmhouse with their megaphones, when they made such a fuss about Victor Scerri’s place in Bahrija.

  2. Zeppi says:

Similar to the villa ta’ Reflu t’Ghawdex? Illegally built, no permit, awaiting direct action? When? When will MEPA demolish it?

Charles Buhagiar managed to get a permit to convert a pond into a pool (PA 3846/01). First permit was issued subsequent to an enforcement order in 1996 (EC 372/96).

Charles Buhagiar, minister for mepa (96-98) was his architect (2764/96), before Musumeci moved in. The permit was issued in January 1997. Who knows what kind of fish will be swimming in the pool? After all, Consie is a neighbour. And by the way, just see who owned the property with the notary – from building walls, to building bridges. Guess it is just sheer professional correctness and political seriousness.

MEPA where art thou? Oh I forgot – they are not Victor Scerris.

  5. A Zammit says:

Nice – you build illegally, then you get elected, you became a minister and then you get a permit, u kulhadd rieqed.

  6. Smell the coffee says:

If you don’t want the mayor to protest against your ODZ development ask him to be your architect .

  7. A Zammit says:

Come on Astrid, take your placards to Panda Farmhouse. Show us common mortals that you don’t take sides and have no political ties.
