Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera posted these birthday greetings on the Facebook ‘wall’ of Giannella Caruana Curran, a criminal lawyer who defends cases before her.

Consuelo Scerri Herrera Ad mulytos annos. May you have a supoer day you deserve the world!!!!

Accompanying the greeting was that photograph of the magistrate in a small (well, small….) faded denim miniskirt.

And just to amuse you, because she is not a magistrate but a lawyer and free to post sucky birthday greetings on fellow lawyers’ ‘walls’ if she wants to, just beneath Consuelo’s message there are birthday greetings from Veronique Dalli, formerly of Super One and now of Jose Herrera’s office.

Veronique Dalli A very happy birthday to the most stylish, most elegant lawyer in Malta…

Don’t tell me you thought Malta’s Left-Right paradigm would never become the charade it’s long become in the West! But then you wouldn’t know what I’m talking about, would you? Definitely a case of being stuck in between the mid-70s and the mid-80s.

Brains within squares within squares within brains…

Was it her son or nephew who couldn’t get his Maltese A level like everyone else and was lucky enough that the rules were changed for a year or so, just when he happened to apply?

    • Matt says:

Quite sure it was. Getting into law is now a real farce at university. You need a minimum of grade E in Maltese or English intermediate (apart from two A Levels at grade C or better). This means that:

      1) you could have people pursuing sciences, maths etc who still get into law as they wouldn’t be good enough for science or maths-based courses;
      2) you really do get a lot of idiots in the law course.

Two hundred entries every year, narrowed down to around 90 by fourth year. And I’m one of them. Jahasra.

That’s why all the One News hacks are making a bee line for this course at Uni.

      • Matt says:

        @ Anthony Farrugia

Spot on. It is a bit shameful when you see hacks such as Chaaaaaaaaaaaarlon Gouder strutting their stuff in 2nd year law. At least Miriam Dalli has some brains and is deservedly in 3rd year though – probably the exception to the rule coming from Labour.

Conditionally, might I add, as Charlon failed Constitutional Law in first year – and the resit, if he sat for it – and is doing it again this year. If a lawyer doesn’t know about the most basic law in the land, i.e. the Constitution, then what kind of lawyer is he?

      • Antoine Vella says:

They used to attack the PN as “the lawyers’ party” while they were “the workers’ party”. Apparently it was all envy for they have ditched the “workers” and are all trying to become lawyers themselves.

Incidentally they also used to criticise the PN as the party of businessmen but have now set up a “Business Forum” and told businessmen there is a warm place for them in the PL’s heart.

    • MJB says:

Just goes to show how rotten the PN is (I do hope you know who her daddy is David). They destroyed the credibility of the University of Malta to get their nephews a degree.

    • Arthur Hill says:

Yes the University of Malta changed the rules for this boy to be accepted as a law student. The university authorities did not change the rules for the children of cikku l-poplu. Just a corrupt bunch who act at the whims of these powerful people. How can one have confidence in the system? They ruin people’s lives and at the same time they lick each other for favours. Shame.

Facebook started out as a good social networking site and can be pretty useful if you want to make contacts. Unfortunately people’s penchant for posting absurd comments and a whole host of photos in the most ridiculous of situations has severely reduced its worthwhile use.

Contrary to what was stated on the front page of Malta Today, there was no local election at Siggiewi last year.

  10. Arthur Hill says:

These bitches brought this on themselves by trying to throw egg in the face of Daphne for a small family incident which EVERYONE someday has. At least they are still happily married and not separated or divorced. Unlike others, who have now completely lost their souls.

I know both Robert and Peter personally. They are both dedicated and trustworthy politicians who sincerely want to do their bit for their country. Parliament will definitely benefit from the presence of either one of them.

With hindsight, JPO credibility and political judgement do not have a bearing anymore.
