Kurt Farrugia, the Labour Party’s ‘director of communications’, is on Twitter.

So far, he has 84 followers – not exactly Lindsay Lohan. But then, what do you expect?

This is Kurt’s most recent Tweet:

PM’s comments on Said resignation expose a weak leader of crumbling govt

And before that, there was this one:

Nice discussion developing on Living Wage concept put forward by Joseph Muscat.

Just the sort of thing to light up your evening.

    ‘Nice’ discussion?

nice wine, nice food, nice dress, but nice discussion?

  2. anthony says:

Hey there! Never mind Chris Said. He can look after himself.

What about MY Living Pension ?

  3. Joseph Micallef says:

Just back from a peep at Notte Bianca – if 2% of the crowd purchase the same cuff-links sported by Joseph Muscat on that pathetic poster which hangs on the Labour Party club’s balcony, Primark will have their bottom line covered for at least a year.

  4. ciccio2010 says:

In his tweet about the nice discussion on the living wage, he has a link to an article by another Kurt – Kurt Sansone, the one “Ta Times.”

However, that article starts with the dire words about the negative impact on the economy expressed by economist Karm Farrugia, who I understand is not right-leaning, and ends with similar warning by the representatives of the employers.

  5. kev says:

The wage concept is a step in the right direction. The fact that it is living is a feather in Joseph’s hat.

    • Not Tonight says:

Well, actually, I wouldn’t be in the least bit surprised to see Joseph in a feathered hat – there’s enough of the peacock in him.

    • Dem-ON says:

I thought you meant that we should thank Joseph that after 500 years of the concept, the wage is still living. I had thought it had long been dead.

  7. Najs Kurt says:

10x? I take it that means ‘thanks’. So now we’re not only devising Maltese words that reflect our pronunciation of English words, but we’re also doing the same with text-speak: TENKS.

    Tenks, ta, hi, KERRRRRTTTT. U R GR8T

    • Whistleblower says:

Sherpa, more would be in breach of Daphne’s rules, and would increase the risk that the marmalja will creep back into the blog.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

        Oh bugger. My cover’s blown.

On a rather more serious note, doesn’t Labour’s obsession with 24 hour continuous coverage of Joseph Muscat’s every little move come across as desperation? It’s not just that everything revolves around Muscat. His word is party policy. He IS party policy. They could have put his face as a party logo – it would have been vastly more appropriate.

Must be rather uncomfortable being a Labour MP these days. You wake up on a Sunday morning to find that your Leader has come up with a new idea during an interview, which is now official party policy, and which you’re expected to defend and promote, even if you think it’s total pigswill.

10Q KUURT. Cn U factor in a daily capuc & crnetto in Living Wage calc!

    • Not Tonight says:

And I much prefer a filet mignon and fine wine to pizza and plonk for my weekly treat. Tenks.

    • Dem-ON says:

And we should be able to eat out and order steak on at least two nights weekly, to break the boredom of the working week. After all, the employer will foot the bill.

And while we’re at it, we should be able to upgrade our car. And make cell deposits into a Smart Cell Bank at Euro 2,000 per newborn.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

Hell yeah. And a house with a pool large enough to entertain gay Sorbonne professors.
