Joseph will lead Valerie to the land of milk and honey

Good old Valerie Borg, the Eddy Privitera of our times – she never lts us down.

Here’s her letter to the editor, in The Times today:

With the Nationalist Party in government only 25,000 people were considered needy but with Labour in government everybody will benefit.

I’m quite sure she didn’t mean to say that everybody will be considered needy under a Labour government, or that even people who do not need them will receive subsidies and social benefits.

So what does Valerie mean, exactly?

The Times publishes letters by Valerie Borg each and every week. Are they desperate for correspondence?

  2. SM says:

What she means is that once Labour’s economic policies are implemented the rest of the population will fall below the poverty level.

Good strategy, it is easier to make everyone poor and dependant on the generous hand outs of the “Salvatur” rather then improving the standard of living of the popolin after all recent history teaches us that such people want to play the game but are unwilling to pay for the candle.

We will revert back to greasing Mr. Pellegrini’s palm to be permitted the luxury of purchasing a TV and having to choose our next post code very carefully to ensure that we have a reasonably dependable supply of water and electricity.

It means that with Labour back at the helm, we will go back to the 80s…

  4. La Redoute says:

Translation: under Labour, everyone will be needy.

I don’t think I am goung to persuade anyone with my comments because I am sure that the station owners will be mesmerised by the fact that they will be going on a common digital platfiorm.without having to go through the expense of having to create a digital base of their own. The danger that I see is that because TVM is under Government and ministerial control, anyone placing a channel on that plaform, will automatically be subject to Giovernment attention if not control. It’s not just the programmes , which station owners may consider to be unassailable. It is, indeed teh entire facility that will be at risk. . Does the Opposition really want this? Is an election over the horizon not reason enough for the LP TV Station to take extreme care and not to place itself so close to imminent danger?

Since Valerie mentioned him, I am wondering if Salvu Muscat is one of the 25,000 considered needy under the PN government, or if he will be one of the others who will benefit under Labour in government.

    What an ominous premonition.

My only hope is that she does not know what she is writing about.

Everyone will eventually benefit from an equal share of socialist misery one way or another; on the local scene by our burger-chomping Opposition, and on the continental front by ‘our’ champagne Maoist (Barroso) and friends. Can’t really decide who I’ll have to bend over too.

  9. H.P. Baxxter says:

Excellent logical skills here. Putting “but” between two unrelated objects.

Perhaps Valerie Borg is following the example of our MPs, where the ability to string a coherent thought together is a rare gift.
