Friday night thrills
Wheels within wheels: so it turns out that John Bundy was one of those who backed John Dalli’s horse in the PN leadership battle seven years ago.
Apparently, he believed he would be made head of the PN media WHEN Dalli won that election. Anyway, come Friday night and the EU Commissioner will be taking time out from his busy Brussels schedule to star on Bundy’s Affari Taghna on Super One.
I don’t know what he hopes to achieve, but whatever it is, his advisers had better tell him that he’s now reached the stage where his behaviour is self-defeating.
He has become the equivalent of the bitter woman who can be relied upon to slate the husband who left her, at every given (or taken) opportunity for years on end.
At first you listen, you feel sorry for her, and you might even think how right she is and how ill-treated she was even though he let her keep the massive villa and 2,500 euros a month to spend on herself.
And then, after a bit, you begin to run the other way when you see her approach, and you think, ‘No wonder he left.’
So tune in on Friday if you have nothing better to do than listen to one man bitching while another man asks really dumb questions.

It nevers rains but it pours, doesn’t it?
[Daphne – I’ve uploaded your comment only to tell you that you are no longer welcome here. Carry on slandering me elsewhere surrounded by mad and vicious people, with whom you share far more than you do with anyone commenting here. Please hop off now and mix with your own kind. Thank you. And after reading some of the obsessive, cracked stalker-type things you have said about me elsewhere under the name Fellus Ta Gahan, I also recommend that you see a psychiatrist. You are quite obviously not normal. Believe me, I have had a lot of experience with fixated nutjobs like you. You need help.]
Bundy will get a substantial viewership on Friday given that Xarabank is being wasted (for the third consecutive week) on that pathetic Eurovision thing. I won’t be surprised if Bundy mentions you in one of his dumb questions, by the way.
And if Bundy does not mention Daphne (but not by her name, of course), then be sure that John Dalli will.
Who’s actually managing the EU health portfolio? Just wondering.
Should be John Dalli, but it was recently reported that he said that he was serving a prison term somewhere in mainland Europe instead.
I have never understood how Dalli thought he stood a chance to win that leadership race given his baggage, but it seems that with all these people who gambled on his victory, he was right to think so.
John – PN – Dalli’s main achievement was to come up with a poorly thought-through VAT law that all and sundry flout constantly. Apart from guaranteeing an MLP victory in 1996, he did little else.
The middle class were duped into thinking that VAT was more equitable and would lead to a dramatic reduction in direct taxes on salaries. This never happened and, as they have done for the past 30 years, salaried employees continued to carry this country on its back, freeloaders/politicians et al. Dr Muscat is – quite rightly IMO – preying on this and I don’t really blame him.
Tonio Fenech has two years to come up with something to finally reward those who have paid for the PN’s profligacy over the years. The big Q is, (apart from whether he will or won’t) after fiscally bashing those who paid their dues for so long, will they simply take any largesse and run? ie too little, too late.
Why Muscat ‘quite rightly’ preying on this?
His objective is to get into power.
Everyone else needs to know what’s he’s going to do about it.
