Foreign Affairs in the Labour Party's communications office

The crack foreign affairs specialists at Coconut Central are at it again on the Labour Party’s news portal, Maltastar.

Some days ago they illustrated a story about the Republic of Cyprus with a photograph of the prime minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and just let it sit there for days after the error was pointed out to them.

Now party leader Joseph Muscat has been invited to meet state department officials in Washington. You’d think they’d seize the opportunity to blow the visit out of proportion with some highly suggestive pictures of Barack Obama or at least, the White House. But no. They’ve gone for this night-shot of Manhattan’s financial district seen from the sea. It’s even filed as ‘nyc’, which should have given them a bit of a clue.

In all fairness, they might have gone for this picture because the story says that Joseph Muscat will also be meeting Maltese immigrants in New York STATE.

Will somebody please put these people out of their misery by explaining to them that if Muscat is meeting those Maltese immigrants in, say, Buffalo, NY, then he would be roughly 300 miles away from Manhattan.

Daphne, you should start charging them consultancy fees. They’ve since removed the picture from the link you provided.

But that picture looks mittelkless, whereas Buffalo is bit farmerish.
