Just for de rekort.
One of the comments on this site today emphasised Dom Mintoff’s “academic excellence”. Repeatedly, we are reminded of his impressive achievements as a Rhodes scholar at Oxford.
Nonsense.
Mintoff only managed a third-class degree – which in practice means that he sort of failed, but got marks for trying hard.
And if you don’t believe me, look it up in the official Rhodes scholarship history manual.
Remember, never take on trust what people tell you about themselves. They might be lying, and very often are.

Very good. He gets a ‘nice try’ from Oxford and becomes a commie.
Don’t forget, little Joey was brainwashed by his grammy (who’s the ‘nephew’ here?) that this crazy was a ‘saviour’.
We have a warped little boy here, who deceives on credentials and who knows what else. Vote as you may. But think first.
Some time ago, there was an idea floating around that Old Dom got his Rhodes Scholarship because the British wanted him out of Malta and wanted him to be kept under control in England.
This could be true or it could be a far-fetched political myth. .But with a very fine politcal mind, the British could have actually hatched this plan – who knows?
Try to compare Mr Mintoff’s performance in mathematics as a Rhodes scholar with that of Dr Borg Costanzi.
It’s exactly the marks he would get for his years in power. He failed, but he tried hard.
Also, Mintoff got his Rhodes scholarship only because he was considered to be pro-British, unlike his more talented, but pro-Italian, competition.
