How typically…..southern Mediterranean

We're so progressive that we think it's OK to send out naked pictures of your former lover against his will.
In The Sunday Times, today:
Engerer attends Brussels convention with Muscat
Labour leader Joseph Muscat is continuing to defend former Nationalist Party councillor Cyrus Engerer, insisting that “a personal court case” was not reason enough to bar him from representing the Labour Party.
Mr Engerer, who is currently facing criminal proceedings on accusations that he distributed naked images of his former partner, was in Brussels last week attending a convention organised by the European Socialist Party.
But when asked whether he felt it appropriate that Mr Engerer should represent the Labour Party in an international forum or any other forum, a spokesman for Dr Muscat replied with a question: “Since when should someone be barred from attending a public activity on the basis of a personal case in court?”

Il-mentalita’ tal-cockroach tirrenja.
Ahseb u ara kemm xi hadd minnhom se jressaq xi mozzjoni ghall impeachment tal-Kons.
Why are we surprised that Labour is defending a person who allegedly conducted what, in progressive Europe, would be regarded as an act of homophobia?
The European Socialists have just elected a new President whose credentials about gay rights are doubtful.

B’dak l-argument ghax ma jergax idahhal lil Sandro Schembri Adami mela?
If Malta is in the Mediterranean, is it possible for us not to be and act typically Mediterranean?
[Daphne – Yes. There is a whole sector of Maltese society that is not typically Mediterranean. Some people call them tal-pepe.]
I understand that you do not use the expression Southern Mediterranean as opposed to Northern Medieteranean but as opposed to Northern European.
[Daphne – In that case, you understand wrongly.]
You don’t know the Sicilians.
Sicilian city-dwellers are as tal-pepe’ as Maltese city-dwellers.

Then again, are you saying that the Maltese are more like North Africans (Southern Mediterranean) than like South Europeans (Northern Mediterranean)?
Watching One news right now, I lost count of the number of clips showing Joseph Muscat talking about “gvern immexxi minnhi…”
Finally, they took heed of your advice and got the sequence of flags behind the leader right .
This time round, they remembered to add the Labour flag too.
Personal, criminal or both?
I thought the ‘personal’ case was dropped leaving the ‘criminal’ part yet to come to court.
Joseph brought his fans from Malta – is that the applause of Cyrus and Aaron?

At 28.00, the chairperson gave Joseph the opportunity to speak about his novel concept of the living wage, but he just avoided the subject.
