What’s so embarrassing about Marisa?

Ahhh, kemm hi lucky!!!!!!!
The Leader of the Opposition has done it again.
He’s boasted once more (The Sunday Times yesterday) about the senior personages who have joined the Labour Party from the Nationalists – you know, washed up criminal lawyer and father of twins at 60+ Manuel Mallia, boyfriend-saboteur Cyrus Engerer and divorce activist Deborah Schembri, who was never associated with the PN.
And he forgot all about Marisa Micallef, the one who started it all with a Big Bang, though not the sort of big bang that involves one of Malta Today’s ceiling mirrors (see earlier post).
Two years ago, she was a big akkwist to be boasted about in press releases and party club meetings. Now, they never talk about her and I have yet to hear Joseph Muscat mention her name.
So what’s so embarrassing about Marisa Micallef that isn’t embarrassing about, say, Cyrus Engerer?
We know that she’s still in the Labour mix because she was last photographed at a selling exhibition of Mrs Joseph Muscat’s costume jewellery (yes, really), surrounded by the sort of people who she considers absolute ‘hams’, though clearly she has since had no choice but to develop a more democratic attitude.
What a sad fate. From chairman of the Housing Authority to Michelle Muscat’s bridesmaid and bag carrier. I suppose she thinks she’s marking time until she’s chairman again. But first Marisa will have to get Coconut Farrugia to put those knives away. He’s jalliss.

And at one time the Labour supporters used to think that Marisa is Defni, and they were in absolute mix-up.
[Daphne – Yes, I find it hilarious that they have an opinion about how awful and evil I am, when they’ve never read anything I’ve written because they can’t.]
How arrogant You are
Looks like that your governments education resulted futile since they cant read what you write!
[Daphne – I have never been the prime minister, dear. Hence, I have never had a government.]
@ Joe
We know that Mrs.Caruana Galizia is good, very good, but you can refer to her in lower case just the same.
@Oxx Ommok – The kind of people you are referring to who can’t read, are the kind of people who are not interested in reading anything. If they were, they’d probably read such trash as Kulhadd or Malta Today.
I remember people confusing D.Caruana Galizia with M.Micallef actually because of the physical appearance. The long straight hair mainly.
Let’s hope for her sake that Marisa’s investment pays off. At least she gets some nice necklaces to wear in the meantime. Or does Michelle make her pay for them?
What happened to her Facebook page?
Not only that, but they mix Bahrija with Bidnija.
[Daphne – As if I would live in Bahrija, post mimli Laburisti, xi dwejjaq.]
So Daphne, you actually have a problem with all Laburisti not just the blinkered ones…. how egocentric from your end.
Kont nahsbek iktar matura fil-kummenti tieghek.
[Daphne – Laburisti are blinkered by definition, Ivan. How else would you explain their decisions?]
The elves have re-arrived on your blog. Your popularity soars once again.
You forgot her latest promotion to cheer-lady for Brian Realta’ Hansford..
Why I like Lou Bondi and why Labourites (and closet-Labourites) detest him:

Prosit, Lou!
52% tal-Laburisti ma jridux lil Marisa!
Din tal-misthija.
I think you are prejudiced, especially in your description of Cyrus Engerer and the like. It is completely unfair to judge public figures in terms of their personal lives regardless of which party they might make or might have made a part of, unless it’s very much intermixed with their political duties.
[Daphne – Let’s get one thing straight. I do not give a damn about Cyrus’s personal life. He can shag or do whatever he likes and I am not at all interested. But I do have serious concerns about homophobia (and what he did to his ex boyfriend was a homophobic attack, intended to provoke disgust and worse among his colleagues) and equally deep concerns about people who are inclined towards that kind of premeditated and malicious revenge. I would think that those sorts of character traits would manifest themselves unpleasantly in political life sooner or later.]
I think it’s terribly unfair of you to judge people like that, and as for your reply to the comment which stated that the PL mix up Bahrija and Bidnija as your place of residence, I think it’s incredibly unprofessional of you to say that you would never live in Bahrija because of what political party most residents adhere to.
[Daphne – Professionalism does not come into it, Marco. No, I would not live in Bahrija, and one of the reasons (there are others) is that when you are in my position and under attack and surveillance all the time, the last thing you want to do is live among spies and the enemy. I like to know who my neighbours are. Most of us do, so don’t act surprised.]
You are a blogger, and you are entitled to your own political opinion as well as to the expression of it – but so is everyone else, and you have no right to judge them in such an unfair manner.
Regards,
Marco
@ Marco:
How is it prejudiced to comment on a person’s behaviour after a well established fact?
And how exactly is it unfair to judge criminal behaviour of elected representatives?
And how – unless one has a double personality, which alone makes one unfit for political life – will one’s attitude towards criminal behaviour not inpinge on their political duties?
