  1. oldtimer says:

Franco Debono is the past already. Let’s think about the future.

  2. Dee says:

The problem with the Honourable Biezel is that he did not have enough setbacks and real suffering in life to help his build character, a strong spine and a thick hide.

He should call it a day and maybe re-enter politics in ten years’ time, when he grows up.

    • mark v says:

No he is finished. No one will ever trust him to run on a party ticket again.

    • catsrbest says:

Men like him never grow up. I mean they only grow up physically but never in maturity.

    • Angus Black says:

      Traits last a lifetime.

Now or ten years from now will make no difference.

Cockiness, arrogance and disloyalty to superiors (and peers) will still be with him.

Who would need to have him around causing trouble?

People’s memory lasts longer than ten, twenty or more years.

Franco’s future is in Italy, his heart’s desire. He is free to go, no visas required thanks to his (former) Party’s achievements and no thanks to him.

  3. Julian Esposito says:

Clicking through to one of the videos suggested at the end of this one, you can hear FD referring to what presumably happened to him at St. Aloysius playground. The part in question starts at 1:27 in the following video:

  4. john says:

Top student eh? So how come he ended up in such a crap course?

  5. Dee says:

He most certainly is NOT a top graduate from the University of LIFE.

[Daphne – Or even from the actual university, it appears.]

  6. Andre says:

He really is a “miskin”. He doesn’t seem to realise that no one can be robbed of their dignity unless they allow others to do so (or unless they do not know the meaning of the word).

  7. thank you Franco says:

This is the concern amongst foreigners working in Malta.

One of the company directors Skyped me as below.

[13:52:52] : heard some people talking about in the weekend that if there is a change, it might be dangerous for the gaming companies?

Don’t know much, just heard that if Labour would win, it might be loads of risks since they havent been for so far and have quite different opinions.

  8. ciccio says:

    Norman baqa’ imbellah. 0.13.

  9. Franco's think thanks says:

Franco is doing all this so that he ensures that his name will be carved out in the history books. This is what is motivating him at this point.

He also thinks that by doing this, the world will remember him as the one politician who has sacrificed himself as a martyr for modern democracy.

  10. Joss Kerr says:

Let’s be frank, Franco. You do have a cheek to call your warped sense of reasoning democratic.

How can one bring down a democratically elected government against the wishes of the majority? Open Gaddafi’s little Green Book and you will notice that this is precisely his idea of a democracy; going against the will of the many.

I can think of another Franco, Franco, but let’s not relive another unpleasant era in history. Yes, emigrate, by all means, but remember that news travels ahead of you, these days. Goodbye and good riddance.

  11. Yanika says:

Can a person be assessed against his will regarding his mental state even if he refuses?

  12. N.Abela says:

Did it ever cross your mind that it is a set up to have Labour in office and then they will give the contract for the power station to Sargas.

  13. Dunstan says:

We should all understand why Dr Debono hangs on to that Form 2 report.

While we were alll eagerly celebrating the end of a ruined life under Mintoff and Co., he was probably given a bar or two of Mars for doing so well. How could he forget that.

  14. C.Camilleri says:

  15. Claude Sciberras says:

It is fascinating that he says he was always so good and now “for the first time” he has found someone holding him back he cannot accept it.

It seems like this person never learned any of the hard lessons of life.

  16. thinker says:

Let’s make this clear – and i hope you are listening, Franco.

All that you have said and ‘proposed’ – we all knew about these problems/issues.

You said nothing new (dividing a ministry does not count as a spectacular thing – sorry).

Thus this makes you a person who decided to sound these issues out loud.

It has absolutely NOTHING to do with you being smart, or a top student.

You did not think of any great solutions.

People refuse time over time to listen to you because of the manner you approach things.

So please, do stop telling us that you are biezel u bravu. In the beginning it was amusing. Now it’s just annoying.

  17. Grezz says:

Franco Debono said ‘me/I’ (jiena) 86 times in 28 minutes – once every 20 seconds – at his press conference on the weekend.

  18. Vincent says:

    Kemm hu bravu il-vavu.

  19. P.Zammit says:

After watching today’s Bondi+ I am convinced I know what made Franco snap.

It was the SMS from Chris Said who asked for his collaboration on the law reforms.

PS : your website is rather slow in loading Daphne …it’s either the elves or you need to have your bandwidth increased.

[Daphne – It’s not a bandwith problem. It’s a massive surge in traffic, far beyond what the system was designed to cope with. It’s being resolved.]

  20. Ganna says:

What are the people at Betfair telling Karmenu Vella about this situation? We should be told.
