Public morals have taken offence

Can some people even begin to understand just how ridiculous a headline like this is, especially when presented with absolutely no hint of twinkling-eyed irony?
On timesofmalta.com, now:
MOROCCAN WOMAN ACQUITTED OF OFFENDING PUBLIC MORALS
It turns out that when the police raided a pole-and-lap-dancing place called The Midnight Cowboy (about which, the less I say the better), the woman in question was found wearing a low-cut top and a transparent skirt through which her G-string showed, and she was standing at the bar talking to men.
The court ruled, as well it might, that this does not constitute an offence to public morality.

The alleged incident happened in 2006, so the time it took the court to deal with this case is equally ridiculous.
But maybe all of the judges, police officers, prosecutors and defence lawyers involved had to check out “The Midnight Cowboy” in person. That took some time.
Well, I have seen young girls in Malta wearing such revealing clothes in public, and is it now against the law to talk to men in bars? Also, The Times needs to check the standard of the English language used by some of its reporters. Standards have really fallen in that sphere.

Whisky. Tango. Foxtrot.
Yes he is teasing you and the rest of us. Milking the scarce health care resources to the end.
This woman appears to have been dressed more decently than the show girls on RAI in last week’s San Remo song festival.
At least she wasn’t described as being “dishonestly” dresed. Thank heavens for small mercies.
