Comment of the week

Posted by Anthony, earlier tonight:

Debono is a nincompoop playing about with the government’s one-seat majority. As we say, he is just making a general nuisance of himself.

If the government had a majority of two seats, Debono would be either fighting his cock in Hal Ghaxaq or masterbaiting like that other imbecile fron Layber.

Fighting his cock? He’ll get a happier ending if he sets his famous mobile to vibrate in his trousers. It just doesn’t stop ringing, remember.

  2. FP says:

Fighting his cock, or fighting with his cock.

Either way, he’ll keep himself busy, while the rest of us can get on with our lives.

  3. The Shadow says:

The sad thing is that Debono controls 1800 first preference votes in his district. So don’t be surprised if the PN keeps him on as a candidate in the upcoming election.

[Daphne – Oh come on. Do you think any of us who voted for Jeffrey are going to do so again? He certainly doesn’t control our vote, and hasn’t for the last three to four years. Same difference with Debono.]

    • Jozef says:

All the PN has to do is offer alternative candidates, who are already doing what he should be doing anyway. Which is why he also expects to decide who the party should field. He just won’t play fair.

The PN should immediately restart the selection process making it clear where it stands. L-Orizzont hasn’t stopped the mudslinging on potential candidates, and as long as the PN procrastinates, these are being damaged. The vacuum in the fifth district is untenable.

    • The Shadow says:

Don’t kid yourself. The PN cannot afford to lose those votes. Most of them are disgruntled voters who see Debono as Sir Galahad and they will either give him their votes, not vote, or vote PL.

[Daphne – As if. The PN hasn’t lost Jeffrey’s votes. They’ll go to somebody else, more deserving, in the same party. Same with Franco.]

The PN cannot afford to keep Debono.

That is a sine qua non.

What happens to his votes is completely beside the point.

Too spoilt; too much ambition and too much looking in the mirror and liking what he sees. Gonzi has been playing the biblical Job for far too long a time. The sooner we get rid of this so-called man, the better.

  5. Allamana says:

    Franco’s surname should be Mintoff

When he does the right thing, he goes about it the wrong way.

Less than a year left before being consigned to the dustbin of history.

  6. Paul Bonnici says:

This guy would never succeed in the UK; the British do not like people blowing their own trumpets.

  7. Min jaf? says:

“Debono would be either fighting his cock in Hal Ghaxaq or masterbaiting like that other imbecile fron Layber”…or, more probably, both concurrently.

  8. pazzo says:

I hail from the 5th district and I said it more than once on this blog. I and my family (five votes) will never ever trust Franco again.

However, Gonzi should take heed, because there is a big vacuum in the 5th district. We do not have much choice, and that is dangerous. I do not like Noel (is-sindku tal-Imqabba) or Toni Bezzina l-perit. And I know what I am saying.
