I thought only beautiful young people were meant to sit behind Joseph

So will somebody please tell me what middle-aged, albeit thoroughly face-creamed, Jason Micallef is doing there? This gives new meaning to the panto-call ‘He’s right behind you!’

    Why are you surprised.

Where else would you expect to see Jason, if not where he thought the young would be sitting?

Daphne,…I heard that the latest Diktat from the LP is that Jason is to be seen behind the great leader during public meetings…

    Not a happy bunch, either.

Maybe he will be taking care of the Labour electoral campaign again and make an ass of himself.

I think Jason is quite attractive.

The guy behind Joseph’s right elbow is not exactly my idea of young and beautiful.

Isn’t that Mario of Scruples sitting on the front row?

By no stretch of the imagination can any of those posing in the background be considered ‘beautiful young people’. So Jason fits right in.

Anyway, maybe Joseph wised up to the fact that surrounding himself with fresh young faces out of a poster can be counter productive, as it makes him look more like the balding middle aged man that he is rapidly morphing into.

In other words, maybe he is trying to avoid the Ronnie Pellegrini effect.
