Joseph: caught lying again

Whoops! Red backdrop! Trust Inspector Gadget to leave this picture on his Facebook page.

So what was it really, Great Leader? Did you need five years of hindsight to finally admit that the Yes vote won the referendum, as you told The Sunday Times in September 2008? Or did you insist with your Labour colleagues from the start that once the people had decided, their decision had to be respected, as you told it-tifla tal-Botom four months earlier?

I think the truth is somewhere in between: that you calculated your options then sat down and mapped out Plan A and Plan B for the glory of Joseph, depending on the different scenarios.

JOSEPH MUSCAT, SEPT 2008 IN AN INTERVIEW WITH IVAN CAMMILLERI OF THE SUNDAY TIMES:

“I admit that with hindsight, the ‘yes’ vote in the referendum won.”

JOSEPH MUSCAT, MAY 2008, IN AN INTERVIEW WITH IT-TIFLA TAL-BOTOM OF ILLUM:

“…kont wieħed fl-MLP li sostnejt mill-ewwel li ladarba l-poplu ddeċieda u sħubija fl-Unjoni Ewropea rebħet, għandna nirrispettaw ir-rieda tal-poplu u dan fi żmien meta kien hemm kurrenti mhux żgħar fil-Partit Laburista li kienu qed jgħidu ‘nirreżistuha’ u parti mill-manifest u l-politika tagħna tkun li noħorġu lill-Malta mill-UE jew ħaġa jew oħra..”

There’s another version; the one he gave to Reno Bugeya on Dissett, in Maltese.

His exact words were, ‘Meta wiehed jara ir-rizultat tal-elezzjoni tax-xahar ta’ wara, allura partnership tielef’.

In other words, ‘the referendum result didn’t count, given that we had stated we wouldn’t respect it’

There must be a video somewhere.

The man needs hindsight to understand that 54% is greater than 46%.

That says a lot about a man who expects us to believe that he’s well versed with current trends and that he’s got a modicum of foresight as expected of a Prattikament Prim Ministru.

I’m sure the inspector brought that Asian elephant back home with him. Last week I saw him walking hand in hand with an elephant down Strait Street.

Good Lord, Troy. How did the elephant make it through that narrow street?

I hope that the pillars that support the rear of the court building along that street were not at risk at any point in time.

We wouldn’t want the future Minister of Justice to be responsible for the collapse of the justice system from Opposition.

[Daphne – Inspector Gadget and his elephant eat lunch at Marks & Spencers cafe during the week, and on Sundays they have lunch at the Turkish kebab place in Mosta, Sofra. Luckily, it has a large glass window and Inspector Gadget and the elephant like to sit in it where they can be seen, making it easy for me to check whether they’re there before I go in. The thought of a kebab with an Anglu Farrugia cabaret on the side is too much to stomach.]

In my view, Joseph Muscat should only make news when he is caught saying the truth.
