Nice photo with the laptop there.

I would not be surprised if he set up his email address as silvio@hotmale.com.

Fault at Delimara causes short power cut

Some localities in Malta and Gozo suffered a loss of supply for a few minutes this afternoon due to a fault at Delimara Power Station.

The fault, at 4.54 p.m., led to load shedding some localities in the north of Malta, parts of Gozo, Freeport, Sliema and Gzira..

The supply at Freeport was restored after 6 minutes while Sliema and Gzira were energized at 5.06 p.m.

With the help of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition, Enemalta engineers were able to restore supply in a shorter time through remote control distribution. Supply was fully restored at 5.17 p.m.

These poseur-pics just make me cringe…

Oops I pressed “Submit Comment” !

So a 23 minute power outage is a news item now.

How were Sliema and Gzira “energized” ? Red Bull or Gatorade ?

I dread to think about the 5 years of Labour we will have, New Movie, Back to the past instead of Back to the future.

Looking at these pics of this ‘young guy’, this ‘żagħżugħ’ just like Joseph, and thinking surely – Silvio must be into his 40s by now. I’d Google him but I’m in a hurry.

    Mid-life crisis anyone?

[Daphne – You won’t get his date of birth by Googling him, only his place of birth: Rahal il-Gdid.]

    • ciccio says:

What, he hasn’t got a Wikipedia entry as yet?

    • Mark Vassallo says:

      Born in 1965 i.e. 47 this year.

      0498865M Parnis Saviour, Onor., M.P. 61 Triq l-Isqajjaq Tarxien

[Daphne – Just a year my junior, then. Imbasta joqghodu jghajruni menopausal u mara xiha etc. And he’s just had his first baby. PATHETIC. At 47 you should be looking to become a grandparent, not a first-time parent. Din saret moda bil-babies fi xjuhitom, tal-Labour. I imagine they think it makes them seem youthful. But then again, he did trawl the cradles for somebody 20 years his junior – the pervert.]

      • Mark Vassallo says:

Wrong – Not 20 years his junior, but 21 years his junior!
        0178586M Parnis Dorianne

        [Daphne – So sleazy.]

      • Chris Ripard says:

In that case, I apologise: soon 53 . . . and no sign of a grandchild. Sorry to be a deviant.

You should be well aware that certain blokes go for young flesh (and many of us fancy it, but take no action). Why not tell us what makes women say “yes” to quasi-paedos?

[Daphne – Women almost never do, Chris. That’s why these cases are the exception and not the rule. A generation is far too big a gap for most women. And for most men, too. Physical attraction yes, as you said. But a relationship depends on a whole lot more than that, and it is virtually impossible to have anything in common, or relate as an equal to, somebody a generation younger or older in that kind of relationship. Of course, if the couple meet when she is, say, 40 and he is 60, things are different – but 20s and 40s? No, definitely not. He’s lived and she hasn’t, but then I suppose that’s why he makes the choice. It’s the equivalent of having a Chinese wife.]

      • milton says:

Is he really our future Minister Tas-Sawt?

  8. duke says:

He’s looking for Page 3 girls.

[Daphne – They don’t come over the age of 80, duke.]

    • silvio says:

A very young wife is quite an expensive hobby, but anyway if you can afford it, why not.

[Daphne – Wrong again, Silvio. Men pick very young wives for the same reason they pick wives from ethnic groups trained to be subservient to men: they’re much cheaper, less demanding and ask no questions. The most expensive wives are from the same generation as the husband but who refuse to work. Or they are much younger and the husband feels he has married out of his league, so bends over backwards to splash money he can’t afford, to keep her.]

I am sure it is the dream of all elder man to be able to afford one of those Asian beauties. Of course this hobby might play some funny tricks with one heart, but from what I’ve been told it’s worth the risk.

[Daphne – Only for your generation, Silvio. Younger men demand conversation. Lots of young men Maltese are even now complaining about Maltese women their age, who have been trained by their mothers to be pleasant and flirtatious but who, like their mothers, totally lack conversation and general knowledge. Your use of the word ‘afford’ is telling: paying for sex and servitude. In fact they’re pretty cheap; the really desperate ones will service you for board and lodging, but you’ll need a friend in the immigration authorities.]

After all you might some day be run over by a truck, but I’ve been assured there is no comparison.

So be bold and live your dream and to hell with the risks.

      • silvio says:

As always you might be right, but tell me, with one of those, who would dream of wasting time in conversation?

From a certain age onwards, time is precious and every second counts.

Whether it’s an expensive hobby or not, as in all things, depends on what one is after. I can assure there are some who can be very demanding.

Of course, what I write all depends on hearsay and I might be wrong, for once.

[Daphne – Silvio, this kind of reasoning is a good illustration of the theory that the libido takes over when the meaning of life is lost (or never was).]

      • silvio says:

How cruel. You surely know where to hit. Where it hurts most.

[Daphne – No, it’s just a coincidence. I happen to be reading Stephen Green’s Good Value, which mentions this in its opening chapter.]

  17. Bellicoso says:

    What a prat.

Look at the tension in his hands in the second pic. Who holds a sheet of paper like that?

  18. kev says:

And what’s wrong with those photos? He can write. He can read. He can solemnly think and reflect.

He avidly reads the noose of da day. Not much different from Daphne, in this respect.

Same superficial world, same brief; both unknowingly oblivious of the known, believing they know all they need to know.

But cry not. For what would become of Silvio without Daphne? And what is a Daphne without a Silvio? At every social level there’s a dichotomy of hopeless vs hopeless.

    • Bellicoso says:

      unknowingly oblivious of the known……hmmm

As opposed to what? The knowing oblivion of things unknown? What language are you thinking in, Kev?

These pics show a man in an all too common Maltese condition, that of unconscious incompetence (ma jafx li ma jafx).

  19. Amanda Cortis says:

Silvio is a Daily Express man? Shurely shome mishtake.

  20. mac says:

I come from Rahal Gdid as well, nothing wrong with that.

It was only during Mintoff’s reign that the south was given such a bad name (because of certain individuals).

And, by the way, Silvio Parnis was a MUSEUM member, I am told. I am also told that he left the Society because he wanted to be a Labour candidate.

  21. Robert says:

Someone needs to submit these photos to youarenotaphotographer.com

Meanwhile, is there a website called Youarenotamodel.com ? We should create one just for this Silvio dude…
