Confessions of a drunken dentist

Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando Smith’s Facebook wall is like a psychiatric test case, with faux-serene posts about listening to Enya and Vivaldi while stroking cats and drinking Earl Grey (in a mug…), interspersed with neurotic blasts of vicious anger at those who point out his failings.

So when Siggiewi mayor Karol Aquilina posted a link on JPOS’s wall, to Fr Joe Borg’s piece about how we should pity him, JPOS removed it and replaced it with a furious attack on Karol.

He just can’t take criticism can he. His ego is so weak. Carmen Ciantar probably has to fake a When Harry Met Sally mega-orgasm every time, ghax ara kieku ma taghmilx hekk.

Pathetic.

    What I find most bewildering, as a budding scientist, is that in the light of his ongoing antics Pullicino Orlando has been completely let off the hook with regard to his position as Chairman of he Malta Council of Science and Technology.

    He is chairman of Malta’s research funding programme and he is chairman of the par excellence EU Research Framework Programme.

    Does this mean anything to anyone who is not a scientist? I have a feeling it does not.

    His continued occupation of this position only underscores how undervalued science and technology are on our shores. We are made to believe that Pullicino Orlando is cut from the same cloth as the vice-chairman of MCST Nicholas Sammut. Can we be any more foolish?

    I enjoyed the first paragraph. It’s a summary of JPOS’s (that’s a mouthful..) Facebook wall over the last year. It must be pretty mundane if its voluminous content can be described in a single sentence.

    Who after the age of about 10 writes ‘Centigrade’ when talking about the weather? He might be showing us his science credentials unless he has lots of fans in the US?

    I think Gonzi has won the Guinness Book of Records in so far as his patience is concerned.

    I have no word to decribe those three.

    I also think that the Clerk of the House and the Speaker should exam ine their conscience.
