Franco sneaks a peek at the questions when ‘is-sir’ is out of class

The Malta Independent ran a really amusing (in an OMG-this-is-unbelievable semi-depressing sort of way) story about how Franco Debono, when he was a guest on Dissett last Saturday, waited until interviewer Reno Bugeja was out of the room, leaped out of his seat, and ran round to the desk to cheat by looking at the questions.
A photographer who was there took a classic shot.

Read that too. Made me wonder that he could have scored such miraculous scores in his form two results by stealing the exam papers a couple days before the exams.
What a phony. What a stooge.
I am really looking forward to the day when he is kicked out of the party and the Parliament.
One lawyer to another. Franco…you are a loser with no dignity.
What a funny guy! But to be honest for such a news story to make it to the front page, it is quite depressing for the man and for the newspaper.
Franco’s body language shows that he is attentively reading Reno Bugeja’s notes and also indicate that he is making great effort to understand the writing.
Of course this was not a joke, that was the best excuse he could think of.
If it were really a joke, how come Reno Bugeja was not anywhere in the vicinity so that he could share the laughs?
What a joke. Of a man.
The Italian word for a member of parliament who does not obey the whip or toe the party line is strangely called a “francotirratore”.
I am not fully convinced that he is a ‘tiratore’. Iwould rather say he is a bird trapper or breeder than a hunter.
Why?
Because one of his latest Parliamentary Questions was specifically about song birds rearing.

Biex tara x’livell għoli għandhom l-interventi parlamentari ta’ FD u kemm għandom valu importanti għas-sigurta ta’ Malta. Din hi l-għola istituzzjoni ta’ Malta li tesiġi rispett assolut! L-unika konsolazzjoni hi li fil-kwalità ta’ Mistoqsijiet, il-Membri tal-oppożizzjoni jħalluh l-art lill-JD.
If you want a laugh (and possibly cry in desperation when you remember that the MP concerned can end up a member oc Cabinet) have alook at this link!

When this is all over and done with, we will have two new phrases in our political jargon:
To do a Franco will refer to any MP who uses a one seat majority to blackmail the Prime Minister.
To do a JPO will refer to a person who says he will vote one way (in Parliament or on a board) and then vote the exact opposite.
Whether or not it was a “joke” is not the point and irrelevant.
I do not believe it was a joke because he’s the type that would do anything, anywhere, at all costs and without embarrassment to always have the upper hand and be tops.
The point is – Dr.Franco Debono – your behaviour, even at the studios, is unacceptable and highly inappropriate.
You’re quite a benchmark, nat.
The part I enjoyed most about the article was the paragraph that began:
‘Dr Debono, who phoned this newspaper back several times after our initial contact, each time insisting that this had been just a joke……’
It continued with his tedious insistence that the press would do better to report on what the nation is really interested in, that obviously being his proposed, earth-shattering reforms.
And Ms.Garrett chose to call Minister Gatt a wanker.
I wonder whether that is how he got his ‘excellent’ grade in his Secondary School Cerificate.
Ejja naqtghuha din tal-marki tajbin. Franco was in Form 2 C.
He must have done very badly in the final examinations in Form 1 then.
Form 2 ikunu ghadhom ma sarux ic-choices (sciences, languages, accounting, etc), u l-istudenti San Alwigi jigu “streamed” according to their capability. Franco kien go klassi ta “C”wiec.
A leopard cannot (hide) (change) its spots.
Such behaviour is not expected from a top student.
Excellent. This may be an indicative of how he got those good grades in form 2.
You should hold a caption competition for this photo ……. My entry would be …. “Old Habits Die Hard”
Mission accomplished by Reno Bugeja. I seriously believe that it was a trap for Franco to demonstrate the true personality of Franco! Good job Reno :)
The body language in that picture is incredible.
I wonder what his mum thought of her naughty boy who was caught on camera cheating.
On The Times this afternoon.
“Dr Fenech Adami has been harassing me for years, for reasons that I cannot understand or explain, unless this was a sentiment of jealousy to my achievements,” the criminal lawyer said.
At least admit this time you stooped too low, Franco. Waqajt ghan-nejk.
Ma naghmlux mod li ghalek gab marki tajbin fil-form 2 hux? kienx joqghod jara l-mistoqsijiet qabel l-ezami wkoll?
And he still did not get his answers to Reno’s questions right. Tsk Tsk.
He had prepared himself only about one subject: HIS reforms, but Reno was smart and did not even ask him one single question about that subject.
