JPOS says he will ‘play it by ear’

When The Times asked Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando Smith what he will do if the PN Executive Committee does not expel Richard Cachia Caruana, he replied:
“I will play it by ear.”
What a sham and an opportunist. This means he presented his request in bad faith. If you voluntarily go to a forum for a decision, then it is implicit that you will accept and abide by that decision.
Otherwise you are just a tinpot dictator, telling the forum what to decide and threatening consequences if they don’t do your bidding.
‘Play it by ear’ – meaning, he has yet to consult Carmen Ciantar, Consuelo Herrera and Joseph Muscat.

What an obnoxious, despicable, unprincipled, opportunistic person you really are, Jeffrey.
How, after having done all this, you can face people without the slightest hint of shame speaks volumes about you as a person and libraries about you as an MP.
And yet Joseph Muscat welcomes you into his skip. Which speaks volumes about Muscat as a person too, let alone Muscat as a Prattikament Prim Ministru.
You three deserve each other.
There will be an added bonus for Muscat if JPOS puts Alfred Sant in bad light.
Joseph needs a diversion, something to keep him away from the attention. Take it away and he’s left with nothing. A ragion di stato.
When the pressure is for Joseph to control, and he doesn’t, it looks like he can’t afford to. I suppose it’s up to us to compensate for the democratic deficit.
Jeffrey also gets to see how much Carmen loves him in return. Unless all he wants, is to be owed as much as Marlene.
That means he’ll probably move a motion of no confidence in the government
Rather than consulting with Carmen, I would rather say receiving a dictatum from Carmen (who in turn consults with Joseph and Consuelo).
Does he really think that his blatent opportunism is impressing the all important floater vote in favour of Joseph’s Moviment?
Hardly.
JPOS may ‘ play it by ear’, the Party Executive certainly will not.
It has heard enough and furthermore JPOS’ vote with the Opposition will certainly seal his fate. If playing it by ear means that if his request is not acceded to he will cross the floor, so be it. We have been expecting this from any of the ‘Gang of Three’ for a long time and surely the NP Executive is well prepared for any eventuality.
What is certain is that shortly JPOS will become a ‘persona non grata’ at the Nationalist Party while at the same time he becomes of no further utility to the Labour Party.
Time to go back to 12 year old Earl Grey, novacaine and Botox, Jeff and start gracing the LP’s glass house at the Mile End with your frequent visits. You will add to the abundant talent in Joseph’s skip.
Play it by ear? Whose ear?
Spineless, gutless – will break into tears like all cowards
Il-verita hija li wara il-vot fil-parlament il-PL indunaw li Richard Cachia Caruana ser ikollu aktar hin biex jidedika ghal-PN ghal waqt l-elezzjoni generali bhala wiehed mill-istragetisti ewlenin.
B’hekk tefaw il-gebla fuq saqajhom u allura issa qed jergaw jinqdew JPOS biex minalijhom ser itajruh mil-PN ghax jafu li bil-politika li jhaddan dan il-gvern qatt ma ghandhom cans jirbhu allura qed jipruvaw idajfu lil PN minn gewwa la sabu tliet bahnana li qed jaqduwhom ghax huma bhala partit ma humiex kapaci jmexxu.
It’s like Labour’s policies: they will change according to whom they are meeting.

Daphne, I have just read your column about JPOS in The Malta Independent today.

Because he is so obsessed with your writings/blog I know he reads these comments, so with your kind permission I would like to address him directly.
Hey Jeff (bir-rispett kollu lill-“habib” tieghi li ghandi rispett kbir lejh bla bla bla bla)
I saw you on Dissett – you were just pathetic, man.
First you say that you have the best relationship with the prime minister and that Richard Cachia Caruana is your friend and there is supposed to be no mutual grudge.
But then after a few comments you attack him with shades of conspiracy theory but still unsubstantiate your claims.
There are people who can read between the lines and more importantly still, they can read body language.
All your arguements are artificial. Your sole purpose is to hit back at Gonzi for all the wrong reasons, to the extent of bringing down a legitimate government.
Stop calling yourself a Nationalist, or even a decent person. You make me literally sick.
