These comments were posted beneath yesterday’s top story on timesofmalta.com, about the disastrous timing of the resignation of Malta’s permanent representative to the European Union.

Tal-biki.

And by the way….if you want to get the best negotiator, even over his 90’s, get back Mintoff……..

Well, he is not exactly working in quantum physics….another other representative with normal intelligence can handle the EU listed and numbered protocols, steps, rules, regulations and other fuzzy docs.

I missed watching Dissett this evening. Is it usually repeated on TVM at some later time or available on some website?
    Thanks.

Mintoff used blackmailing tactics he was not a negotiator. George Borg Olivier was a true and patient negotiator.

Yes, maybe Joe Debono Grech can take over where RCC left off.

Just proves you right, Daphne, that Labour believe anybody is capable of doing someone else’s job.

I have gone through the whole range of emotions when it comes to Labour and their supporters.

I think I have gone full circle and now just read these comments with amazement.

Their blind, misguided rose-tinted spectacles are just incredible.

I would be happy for these people to continue through life making the wrong decisions when sadly the reality is they could very well be making a terrible decision for all of us very soon.

    Dear Victor Caruana,

Speaking as a current student doing an M Phil in European Studies, and a graduate with a Second Class Upper degree in European Studies, the ‘listed and number protocols, steps, rules, regulations and other fuzzy documents’ never fail to amaze me in their richness and yes, difficulty to conceptualise and put in context many times.

You do need a genius like RCC to head the immensely capable delegation of staff who do tremendously hard work 24/7 to achieve the results they do.

To try and put these ‘listed number of protocols’ in immensely over-simplistic terms let me put it this way: Compare it to a bucket of sand in which to defend any point which may arise, you dont need to find the actual grain but also put it at exactly the precise angle to the nearest .0001 of a degree to interpret it and analyse it in the correct manner…

Mur gibek xi cardiac surgeon… jintela l-mortwarju ta’ l-isptar b’nies mejtin. Il-vera jaqq, skarpan, disgustatnti u Sqalli!
