Betrayed by JPO
A letter in The Sunday Times, yesterday:
Betrayed by JPO
Julian Sammut, Żebbuġ
I voted for Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando in the 2003 general election. I canvassed for him at the last election in 2008 and almost voted for him. I was not convinced by his ‘performance’ on the Mistra matter, and switched my preference at the 11th hour.
I did not vote for his personal agenda. I voted for him as the local candidate of the Nationalist Party, the party in whose policies I had most faith.
I had full faith in Richard Cachia Caruana too, and feel that his absence from Brussels will be detrimental to the interests of our country. Mr Cachia Caruana has served his country well and does not deserve this.
I am truly disappointed and saddened by this whole episode. I know of many others, also residents of Żebbuġ, who share my feelings. I hazard to guess that the great majority of those who voted for him feel likewise. We have been betrayed. What a pity, what a shame.
A letter in The Times today:
Mature MPs
Joe Psaila Savona, Żejtun
If, as is being alleged, there were other Nationalist MPs who wished to downsize Richard Cachia Caruana but still voted in his favour, they should be commended for controlling their passion and guarding the institution that is Parliament from their personal feelings.

Jeffrey nips from his Labour bed to his Labour vote in parliament – and then accuses others of colluding with Labour.
Pathetic creature.
