Fabulous – now I’m being threatened through email by Dalli’s ‘friends’

Published: October 25, 2012 at 11:48am

To demonstrate just how very cut off they are from normal thought and attitudes in Foreign Lands, John Dalli’s supporters, like him, expect not to be taken to task in the press for what he has done (by which I don’t mean asking for a bribe of EUR60 million) and for the way he is behaving now.

DEAR DAPHNE before even reading the headlines of your article regarding john dalli i knew its contents i would LIKE TO KNOW to what categories you belong to and who are your friends IF YOU HAVE ANY there were times when i used to buy the newspaper for the sake of reading your articles NOT ANY MORE always remenber that what goes aroundCOMES AROUND HERE it seems you lost your touch BEWARE AA

Beware? Of what – the bogeyman? This is exactly the way people are kept quite in this benighted little country. This is exactly how cloaks of silence drop down over the worst behaviour by the worst people.

Like hell will I keep quiet. John Dalli’s antics have gone on long enough. Sending him to the European Commission was the final straw as far as many people, myself included, were concerned.

“I have been through this before in Malta,” he told his press conference in Brussels yesterday.

Indeed.

And that begs the question of why he was inflicted on the European Commission in the first place.

Let’s not pretend, shall we? ‘No proof’ is not the benchmark for deciding whether a man like this should have got an appointment like that, just as ‘no proof’ is not the factor in deciding whether to get rid of him, as the President of the European Commission has demonstrated, in no uncertain terms, to Malta.

John Dalli might as well join the “labour movement” sort of thing, he’s seen more on one tv than any other local tv station, phones joseph exactly after his meeting with Barroso, what else ?

Here’s another one, taf int, you being the evil click. She calls it mettocracy.

Daphne, thanks for the work you do.

Antoinette, rest assured that Daphne has many more friends than you can ever imagine.

Beware? BEWARE? Why should anyone who wants the truth to come out beware? This is what democracy is all about. Let people read and hear and make up their minds. We should not beware, any of us.

  6. Taks Fors says:

Bet you are still shaking after this email?

  7. TROY says:

Daphne has got real and loyal friends, the kind of friends that visit her on this blog almost daily, so this dismisses your claim of Daphne losing her touch.

AA if anyone has lost anything it’s you and your banal quartet, because they’ve all lost their marbles.

Caught-in-the-act Dalli, straitjacket Franco, Mistra mystery Jeff and on-base-missed-the-bridge Muliett.

Hopefully if Silvio starts to sing, he can join them as well.

Dear AA, the fact that you can’t even write, along with your excessive use of capital letters and bad punctuation suggests that you never read any sort of newspaper or anything for that matter.

Didn’t anyone ever teach you that the pronoun “I” should be a capital “I”? And don’t give us that ” It’s the internet and we don’t need to spell thing correctly here” nonsense. You’re an adult, not a thirteen year old girl.

You were writing an email to someone you don’t know. I think it would help if you didn’t sound like a psycho killer sticking cut out letters from a magazine to a piece of paper and sending it to your victim, because that’s what your email looks like to me.

  12. Angus Black says:

Labour language, Labour threats, but no brains.

No wonder Super One and Joe Grima are Mr Dalli’s top priorities now, and have been since before SARGAS and Snus.

Sargas and snus, could very well be above board (if you can believe it) AA, but Super One and Radio One? Since when are they credible?

Our ex-Commissioner should be extra careful who he is identified with especially now that he needs to prove his innocence. Insulting letters to Barroso by his close friend cannot possibly enhance his profile and his chances of proving that he is squeaky clean.

‘Ma min rajtek, xebbahtek Sur Dalli’. Qawl Malti li f’dawn ic-cirkustanzi jaghmel tant sens.

  13. Claudette says:

How did he get appointed as European Commissioner?

[Daphne – He asked for the job, through an intermediary, was nominated for it, and then accepted by the European Commission, which failed to check his background thoroughly, perhaps on the assumption that Malta would never send somebody so shoddy.]

    • anna caruana says:

      Way to go PN

Homophobic and more conservative than the pope is really the best we can do.

[Daphne – We? You vote Labour. And incidentally, Labour is the redneck party: terribly homophobic and misogynistic. The rest is just window-dressing.]

    • Claudette says:

So basically anyone can apply for the post of European Commissioner? Doesn’t the Maltese government have any say?

  14. Ian says:

You’ve got a typo Daphne – quiet not quite, 1st line 3rd paragraph.
