Giovanni Kessler and ‘Jose Manuel’ have joined the Evil Click. Welcome aboard, boys.
With his Labour friends Mrs Dominic Azzopardi and Mr Consuelo Herrera, John Dalli was in his element on Super One tonight.
Apparently, Giovanni Kessler and ‘Jose Manuel’ have joined the Evil Click, along with all the journalists in Malta except those of the Labour Party, the General Workers Union and Malta Today (“tat-Times, tal-Independent, TVM, NET, IN-Nazzjon, certu bloggers u dawk li jigbdulom l-ispaga…dawk biss kontrija”).
He thanked all the people of Malta for their support, and all the international media, none of which are questioning his behaviour and all of which are rooting for him.
Ah, the pleasures of being in denial.
He more or less said that Kessler is not only in league with the Evil Click, but also with the tobacco industry.
And we all plotted his downfall together. I quote:
“This was organised. You can tell by the way the attacks on me began immediately, in a programmed way. Certain media attacked me to destroy my good name. They were coordinated. Journalists, certain bloggers. They tried to break me. But the international media support me. Journalists in Malta want to behead me. They are orchestrated. It’s a campaign against me. Kessler took the position of the tobacco industry. U dan Kessler…min hu Kessler?”
“Din hija vendetta kontrija, imma se tibqa f’wicchom. Deja-vu tat-2004. L-istess parallel. I know that I did nothing wrong.”
Yes, by his standards.
“There is no connection between me and Zammit in these matters.”
Meanwhile, there are no visible signs that he has fallen out with Silvio Zammit, sent him to hell, or run him down in public. Let’s see now: Lawrence Gonzi beats him to the party leadership and Dalli spends the next eight years tearing him to pieces. Silvio Zammit repeatedly demand EUR60 million in Dalli’s name, to change a tobacco directive, brings Dalli into worldwide disrepute and loses him his job, and Dalli says absolutely nothing against him.
Then he and Mrs Dominic Azzopardi clear up the little matter of which party Dalli supports.
Simone Cini: “…il-partit li ghadek qed thaddan.”
John Dalli: “Liema partit. Jien nhaddan il-Partit Nazzjonalista.”
Simone Cini: “Allura se tohrog ghall-elezzjoni issa?”
John Dalli: “Qabel ma kellix cans. Issa ghandi hafna hin u nista.”
Simone Cini: “Allura se tohrog?”
John Dalli: “Li kieku kien hemm Partit Nazzjonalista kont nohrog. Imma m’hemmx Partit Nazzjonalista ilum.”
So what’s to stop him setting up the Real Partit Nazzjonalista with Franco Debono, Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando (miskin) and Jesmond Mugliett? The lack of EUR60 million?
Simone Cini presses on: “Kif inhi r-relazzjoni mal-Partit Nazzjonalista bhalissa?”
John Dalli: “Mihiex tajba.”
Simone Cini: “Allura kif se tidhol ghall-politika terga?”
John Dalli: “U issa….”.
And then he made a Freudian slip when he spoke about his family’s “psycho” (psyche).

PN membersip of Dalli and Musumeci should be withdrawn forthwith.
He said that all Malta is with him. Please Johnny, don’t count me in. Since 2004 I have struck you off my list. You can join Muscat’s skip for all I care.
Ditto.

same here.

The best one was how Simone and Robert addressed him as ex Commissioner John Dalli. Simone almost stopped in her tracks as soon as she uttered ‘ex’.
When someone thinks he’s the party, it’s over.
To those who thought, maybe still do, here was someone wronged, all they need to do is imagine what methods he’d have adopted to personal power had he managed to get hold of the PN.
Did Musumeci and Cini ask the Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy of Portomaso where he got the email from Inge Delfosse (see her here http://www.estoc.org/contact-us) to Silvio tal-Imqaret?
This is the most important question on this matter so far.
I can’t understand the zeal he still shows towards the Tobacco Directive. I read he even went as far as spamming the MEPs with an email urging them to push the directive through.
If I were in his position, it would be the last item in my priority list. Probably it wouldn’t even feature in my list at all.
None of the three participants, interviewers and interviewee, sounded assertive.
Half sentences, half questions, half answers.
Half baked.
Expected more from such professionals.
U hallina halli nghixu sur Dalli,u toqodx timliena bid-duhhan.
Eh! bil haqq issa smokeless.
Hi Daphne as always I ask you to enlighten me with your opinion, today I have read in the news that Dalli has said that he never actually resigned since hew never got anything in writing from the President of the Commission, so how can he now say that: “Qabel ma kellix cans. Issa ghandi hafna hin u nista.”
So has he now admitted to resigning or am I missing something? Since as far as I am aware, an EU commissioner acts as a representative of the entire Union and no just as an MP of country.
la ma hargux il-provi boloh intom jekk temmnu.
[Daphne – Jaqaw daqxejn boring issa fuq il-blog ta’ Franco?]
1. Mela tidhol tittawwallu l-blogg ta’ Franco biex taf li nkun hemm?
[Daphne – Sturdut, jien naqra kollox li nista. Hekk xoghli. Ma tistax tahdem fil-gurnalizmu u taqra biss dak li jinteressak.]
2. X’kien waqaft tghajjar lil Franco…interessanti (inghatajt xi direttiva minn xi hadd)?
[Daphne – Ghax kif jghidu bl-Ingliz, the news has moved on.]
3. Kumbinazzjoni li kull min hu kontra GonziPN issiblu xi haga xi tmaqdarlu (li tkun fil-vojt)?
[Daphne – Lanqas xejn. Jien ta’ spiss nikkritika l-policies u n-nies tal-PN. Id-differenza hi li jien naqbel mal-PN u mhux mal-MLP, u allura ovvja li ghandi hafna izjed x’nikkritika fl-MLP. U nies bhal Franco u Jeffrey u Jesmond u Dalli, dawk tal-istmerrija bhala rgiel, u mhux bhala ‘kontra PN’ jew ‘kontra MLP’. Bl-Ingliz jghidulhom ‘blackguards’: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/blackguard%5D
nassigurak, li kieku franco (ZGUR LI MHUX SE JAGHMILHA) issa jappoggja lil gonziPN, int tieqaf tmaqdru (li ghadni s’issa ma nafx x’hemm xi tmaqdarlu). ejja nkunu onesti
[Daphne – Kemm ghandek zball, habib. Jien kont minn ta’ l-ewwel nghidlu x’jista’ jaghmel bil-batija tieghu. Ma nistax ghalih ghax bniedem malizzjuz, ossessjonat u dizgustanti (scoundrel), u mhux ghax kontra l-PN. Jista’ jibda jilghaq il-prim ministru, u xorta nibqa nghid l-istess.]
“Jien ta’ spiss nikkritika l-policies u n-nies tal-PN.”
Imma tal-gonziPN le. Taf li hemm differenza bejn PN u gonziPN? taf li l-unika 2 partiti f’Malta (apparti l-AD, AN u movimneti zghar ohra) huma PL u gonziPN? M’ghadux jezisti l-PN, taf?
[Daphne – gonziPN xi partit gdid u differenti mil-PN? Ahjar tispjegali, ghax ma nivvutax Labour u mohhi jahdem differenti minn taghkom.]
heh, tafu tghidli izjed x’differenza kbira hemm Sinjura Caruana Galizia. Tahseb li l-politika ta’ EFA hi l-istess bhal ta’ LG?
[Daphne – Iva, l-istess ezatt. L-istil taghhom huwa differenti, imma jien nivvota ghal policies u mhux ghal management style.]
Franco Debono jekk tisma’ x’jghid, tinduna li verament irid il-gid, u jekk tikritikawh ghax ried ministeru, taf daqsi li xeraqlu jkun ministru.
[Daphne – Int bis-serjeta? Nispera li m’intix mara, ghax kieku tispicca fil-frisk, temmen kul cuc u bum li jigi jistghadek b’hafna cheap talk.]
Haddiehor ma hadimx u kellu / ghandu ministeru. Hu hadem u qed jahdem u xeraqlu. Is-sewwa nghiduha Sinjura Caruana Galizia.
[Daphne – Ma tiehux ministeru ghax tahdem. Tiehdu ghax int kapaci u mentally sound.]
Can you imagine Dalli and Debono fighting for the leadership in their new party? I wonder who makes the bigger fool.
Yes, with JPO sitting in the middle slurping a cup of tea.
“And then he made a Freudian slip when he spoke about his family’s ‘psycho’ (psyche).”
Legendary.
