Golly, Labour – you’re so FRESH

Labour might be spending a fortune on billboards but I don’t think they’ve spent two cents on brainstorming, and you only have to take a quick look at their billboards from 2008 (BELOW) to see that.

They’re even using the exact same photograph of Lawrence Gonzi now that they used almost five years ago.

Regarding the last poster, of course he defended them, they are not blackmailing him, it’s blackmailers and backstabbers our prime minister does not defend or give in to.

  2. Joseph Caruana says:

The first billboard was such a fail. What twenty years? They must forgotten Sant’s government back in 1998. And out of all of them, only two still serve the front benches of parliament.

    • Fido says:

The leaving out of any mention of those two years is either intentional because they are ashamed of such a disaster or, if it were left out inconsciously, it must have been such an horrendous and painful one that their subconscious has obliterated it from their memory as a defence mechanism.

Either way you look at it, it still points to an admission to a total failure.

    • Edward Caruana Galizia says:

They forget all their past leaders’ time in office. And do you blame them?

Most parties bring up their past to mention all the great things that they have done, like the PN do when they talk about the EU for example.

What good could they possibly have to say about their past leaders? None, regardless of the hypocritical “but Mintoff did some good too” nonsense we all had to put up with.

    • ciccio says:

They probably mean that the current PN government has been there since 1998, which means that in 2013 it would have been there for 15 years, and another 5 would make it 20. If this is what they mean, the message on that billboard is not very clear.

The majority of the Maltese electorate knows that 22 months of Labour government are “izzejjed,” let alone 5 years.

We also know that 25 years in opposition have not been enough for them to change, and another 5 years are necessary. Deal.

Il-fatt li juzaw ritratt ta’ snin ilu huwa punt favur Gonzi ghax jidher izghar milli hu ihabbatha ma’ Cameron.

  4. Ramona says:

You know what’s really interesting, actually? That almost none of the faces in the top billboard are still ministers – so it seems that, ironically, ‘fresh faces’ wasn’t just a mantra

  5. Jozef says:

They’re illegible. A billboard shouldn’t take more than a couple of seconds to sink in.

    Rajtuha l-arroganza tal-Labour dalghodu fil-Marsa?

Il-kartellun ta’ Blakondixin li b’mod sarkastiku juri lil Franco mghannaq ma’ Daphne (inti u tiela’ lejn St Vennera – minn quddiem l-istalel tal-Marsa) gie mghotti b’kartellun tal-Labour quddiemu ezatt, li juri lil PM qed jghatti ghajnejh.

Veru arroganti dawn in-nies. Ara kif se jkunu bulldozer fuq kulhadd jekk jitilghu.

  7. Natalie Mallett says:

Ghamlu kartellun ta Dr. Gonzi jghatti widnejh, issa hemm iehor jghatti ghajnejh u nahseb li jmiss jghatti halqu u b’hekk ikollna l-istorja tal- “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil”.

Thank you lil Lejburisti li jafu li Dr. Gonzi huwa veru hekk.
