Gino Cauchi was on Nathaniel Attard’s programme the other night criticising il-kumpanija Braziljana, telling us that the only benefit of any kind of investment is how many chops are created directly, i.e. how many people the investor employs.
You know, like the Drydocks employing thousands, because indirect job creation doesn’t exist in the Mintoffian universe.
Cauchi’s standing for election on the 10th district, and is practising hard at getting those hand gestures right, halli tal-pepe ma jmorrux jahsbuh camp bhal dak il-Guy tal-flapping hands.

Let the kumpanija Braziljana go. Let similar companies follow. I don’t blame them with the imminent prospect of a Labour government.
“We will let you work” said Joseph Muscat.
But Muscat says one thing and does another.
Oh what drama, come on!
It is very disgusting the way Labour media treated the company Odebrecht Solutions.
canon: you remind me of someone who used to urge industrialists to close their factories here and leave. And German entrepreneurs not to come to Malta and invest, way back in the early 80s !
canon: So whenever Gonzi or Tonio Fenech announce that some foreign company is truly coming over, we can say that they are coming over because they know – and they ALL check public opinion surveys – that the PL will be in government soon !
Till thinking on the lines of the phantomatic ‘fabbrika tal-elf’. No sooner had the machinery arrived from China that it had to be scrapped. Viva Mintoff!
RJC. Mhbux qed tirreferi ghal fabbrika ST Microelectronics li kien gieba Mintoff, hux ?!
dwardu, l-MLP qabad fuq kumpanija WAHDA. Qatt ma jsemmi l-mijiet ta’ fabbriki fis-settur tal-avjazzjoni, farmacewta u ITC li kollha gew taht il PN.
Fuq ST Microelectronica, kien dan ill-Gvern li zamm lill-kumpanija milli ddabbar rasha.
Min jaf kieku kien hemm il-PN fil-Gvern il-fabbrika tal-elf, l-industrija tal-kappar ghadhom hemm. U mnalla kien il-PN biex nehha Dirghajnn il-Maltin, Pijunieri, Izra u Rabbi, Bahhar u Sewwi u Farrak u Kisser – uhud mill-ideat brillanti ta’ Mintoff biex johloq ix-xoghol.
He might be focusing on the hand gestures to impress the ‘tal-pepe,’ but wearing a jacket on a short-sleeved shirt will not impress the smart voters.
Joseph Muscat has every reason to be scandalized with the initial setback of the new power station.
He and his dad surely remember that we never had such hiccups when his idol was in power.
I mean, look at the second-hand telephone system Mintoff had bought. It worked wonders from Day 1, with subscribers getting multiple contact with a crowd of people with just one phone call.
It was the advent of tele-conferencing, because Mintoff was always years ahead of anyone else on Planet Earth.
Oh, and the water supplies that KMB so kindly imported from Sicily to quench the thirst of the Maltese electorate just before the 87 election. That too worked wonders, so much so that he sent the whole supply ship back and the population had to suffer even longer days without water supply.
Good ol’ Gino may well be our next foreign affairs minister under the watchful eye of AST, of course.
Mhux tajjeb tkun gurnalist mas-Super 1 jew? Tista’ tilhaq ministru bhal Gino u Jason u forsi jekk tkun bravu anke kap tal-partit u prim ministru jlahhquk.
Hip hip hurray! Are we going to be blessed with Gino Cauchi, here in the 10th district? I hope he starts his home visits soon.
Like the ‘fabbrika tal-limi’.]
At the time Mintoff boasted on TV that he bought all the machinery for cheap as the company had gone bankrupt. He did not realize that he screwed himself and made the creditors collect some moneys they were owed at our expense. As all the other Mintoff’s investments, it was another failure and money down the drain.
Viva Mintoffeconomics.
What’s in a number. Even if the said company employed just one person that person would thank Lawrence Gonzi and before him Eddie Fenech Adami for providing him or her a job as a result of the stability created by a P.N. led government since 1987.
It’s Nathaniel Attard boss, not Cutajar.
[Daphne – Corrected. I’m surprised I didn’t get a cross one from Nathaniel Cutajar.]
It seems that the PL have turned their spotlights on Gino Cauchi, the guy who way back in 1998 wanted to be the one to pronounce over the air-waves an MLP victory.
He failed to do so because those who voted the MLP into power in 1996 because of the VAT issue felt betrayed, or rather were betrayed when in effect VAT was replaced by CIR and proceeded to give their vote to the PN in 1998.
My advice to those undecided voters out there and those who feel let down on a personal level by the PN, base your vote on whether the country is riding the storm well in spite of the turmoil currently affecting the EU or simply have a go at Russian roulette. It’s your choice.
“practising hard at getting those hand gestures right”
Is he gay?
[Daphne – Who knows or even cares? But he’s certainly as camp as a row of army tents.]
Is he on Super One?
Daphne: Guess who has been described as a Dinosaur ? Tonio Borg by a Swedish MEP !
Eddy, the circus is coming to town.
If you find that funny Eddy, either you don’t know why she described him as a dinosaur, or else you’re totally stupid.
If she is so tolerant about minorities as she states why doesn’t she tolerate the fact that Tonio Borg is a Catholic?
I see nothing wrong in being against abortion. If Cecilia Wikström is pro-abortion then good luck to her. I just hope she’s not a mother too.
