Joseph tad-Doggy: The Epic Tale
I see that the Malta Labour Party has kept up its time-honoured tradition of publishing a book for every election campaign. In 2003 it was Partnerxipp L-Ahjar Ghazla. In 2008 it was Jeffrey Pullicino Orlando, L-Isklandu tal-Mistra (u imbaghad sar il-hero taghhom, b’Mrs Pullicino Orlando Mark II best friend ta’ Me Shall).
In 1998 it was L-Isklandu ta’ Chambray, and Joseph Muscat wrote the book and got sued for it.
Now he isn’t writing the Malta Labour Party’s electoral book, but starring as its subject matter.
And this time there are no ‘skandli’, because we’re trying ever so hard to be positive – you know, ghax Malta taghna lkoll (but will somebody please get Il-Guy’s nose out of that trough?).
Something else: Labour’s election books are traditionally always trumpeted as being published by SENSIELA KOTBA SOCJALISTI, which is the Labour Party’s own imprint.
No mention of that this time. Sensiela Kotba Socjalisti has become SKS. Blackadder, that’s such a cunning plan.

It may not have been mentioned in the press release, but I don’t think they make a secret of it.
I see a reddish logo on the spine, which could well be the SKS logo: http://profile-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hprofile-ash4/195730_206001842764708_2309482_n.jpg.
Other than for matters of publishing tradition and credibility (ha!), is it a legal requirement to include the publisher’s information in the book itself?
[Daphne – Yes. It’s a legal requirement. Publishers are responsible at law for what they publish.]
“Joseph – Il-Laburist li Jixtieq Li Kien Nazzjonalist”
B’ kitba u ritratti mehuda minn Cyrus Engerer. Interessanti hafna.
Poor Saviour.
SKS sells. Fifty Shades of Joseph.
There is another reason why there are no more skandli now: the PL’s favourite barunijiet and purveyors of skandli have now become their best buddies.
