Is Super One insane?
The Police Commissioner said that nowhere in George Farrugia’s written or recorded statements was there mention of any gift to Tonio Fenech, still less a clock.
Fenech reported the Police Commissioner’s words at his press conference which just ended.
Immediately after, I switched to Super One news. And there was Chris Cardona, saying AGAIN that the information about the gift/clock/Eur5000 from George Farrugia came from his police statement, to which they have access.
I ask whether they are insane because they repeated this lie in the face of THE POLICE COMMISSIONER’S words that there is no such reference in the statements.
I asked whether they are insane, too, because no political party, still less one which is set to form the government, should be boasting about having a police statement it is not supposed to have, or making it obvious that it feels so comfortable fudging and crossing the boundaries that separate the powers in a democracy.

Question.
Could it be that it is a fake statement and the commissioner wants to make sure that he does not have some kind of leak.
I wonder what Gino Cauchi had in front of him yesterday. Perhaps we have the right to know. He nearly made it to Tonio’s list yesterday.
Tal-biki. Look at MaltaToday’s headline:
Clock oil trader gave minister was sister-in-law’s ‘token of appreciation’
This is contrary to what Tonio Fenech said. Mela mifxul sewwa allura Saviour.
The Police Commissioner should investigate Chris Cardona immediately.
Where did Evarist/Cardona/PL get the information from? Tonio Fenech said that the Police Commissioner denied that the €5000 figure was ever mentioned in the Police Headquarters. However, there was a mention of a clock.
[Daphne – No, there was no mention of a clock during the investigations. It was discussed by the police commissioner AFTER the Labour Party talked about it.]
So there must be some kind of info leakage. Shouldn’t the police investigate this?
It seems that the police Commissioners’ statement is not to your liking. Unlike that in the case of Dr. Abela
I have only just now figured out that Super One is actually the PN’s secret weapon.
Can we have a caption competition for that photo?
Nothing new as Labour are believing their own lies.
They always have done just that.
Tell a lie often enough and in their mind it becomes the truth.
Evarist Bartolo – and the newsroom he used to control – is so evidently malicious and ridiculous at the same time.
Police Commisioner’s turn to file a ‘kwerela’ then.
Desperate. They’ve built everything on perception to the extent that even reality and facts become blurred.
The delusion isn’t what they say, it’s the target audience. Delusional to think people aren’t following this closely.
Maltatoday wants out and The Times is pathetic.
8.5 million dollars and all we got was whether a replica clock could have any value. Tasteless gits all of them.
Labour candidates accused by others on paper of siphoning off millions and nothing to it.
Every one of them, leader included, lying through their teeth, none of them capable of presenting a single document and no challenge from the two newspapers.
It’s perverse.
Miriam Dalli was more interested in knowing how Tonio couldn’t have done what he did, and not a word to Saviour’s threats since 2011.
Everything starts the 20th of January according to her. Just look up Saviour’s videoblogs Miriam. What’s with the neutral stance now?
Peregin thinks he’s sardonic. What is he testing, court documents? Why don’t The Times get on with the real job and investigate? It’s disgusting.
Does it have to be the PN to provide the evidence?
We’ve got organised crime constituting a political party about to be elected and no one bats an eyelid.
Should not the police commissioner call Chris Cardona to the police headquarters and ask him to retract the false statements he is making?
Tonio gave him the chance to do just that.
‘Insane’ is certainly not the correct word. I doubt, however, if the correct one can be printed.
Why not try it?
Daphne will be the judge.
Was this “simply” to divert attention from the massive disaster that occurred when the Labour involvement was exposed?
Was this produced as a time waster so that damage control could be undergone by them with the Nationalist-Party having to waste yet more time countering this new insipid claim?
Was this produced to create doubt in the mind of the Nationalists as to Police credibility whilst simultaneously telling their own side with the same message ghandna il-poter mal-Pulizija?
Was this produced because Tonio Fenech is a formidable opponent and in their twisted view it was an opportune moment to exploit in attempting to attack his credibility?
Was this produced with Evarist as spokesman so that they could later at some point boot him out?
Was this produced to test the waters: tell the electorate that they’ve got their hands on the statement, create doubt in the direction of the Police and give Franco some smirk time?
In fact the question still remains, as you put it: do they have a copy of the statement and if they did who gave it to them?
‘Was this produced to create doubt in the mind of the Nationalists as to Police credibility whilst simultaneously telling their own side with the same message ghandna il-poter mal-Pulizija?’
Evarist does it all the time. ‘Jien infurmat, jien ghandi sorsi li jghiduli….’
The tables are turning.
The PL is being exposed for what it is.
The edifice of their electoral strategy based on lies, mud slinging and insinuations is crumbling.
It was all a scam from day one and their fake energy strategy.
Now expect more of the same.
More groundless insinuations more lies and more mud slinging.
Therein lies the party’s entire armamentarium.
Outflanking Joseph Goebbels himself.
Dak ir-rapport taf kif iddubbawh? Dak kien hemm Toni, mar l-ghassa u sab pulizija laburist… the rest is history.
Someone who dared to lodge a complaint against the police with some Commission for Justice (I believe) was hauled to court for defaming the police.
What is the Commissioner of Police going to do now about the dissemination of a false report, quoted by Bartolo and Cardona, alleging falsely that during a police interrogation incriminating evidence was obtained against Minister T Fenech – a lie that is still being repeated today?
A curious position. Too many loose ends apparent. Is there something else happening behind the scenes? Are the Police obliged to provide clarity in this respect?
What I would also like to know: judging by this apparent lingering on matters involving MLP/ Joseph & Co., what happens if the marmalja take to the streets before election results are official?
Have the areas at risk been identified? Are there enough security cameras? Who is in charge of manning these and of their footage? What reaction time can be guaranteed by Police? Will any routes be frivolously blocked? Who is in charge of the hospital emergency roster for triage etc.?
Il gurnalisti tal-MaltaToday,Times u tal-Labour tal-biki….ara japplikawx ghal mac CNN jew mal BBC.
How can Joseph Muscat continue to present himself as leader or otherwise having not only lied on the drugs knowledge and cover-up and also about knowledge of this?
Are we to believe that everyone hid their involvement from him? Joe Cordina, Manwel, Farrugia Sacco?
