   I do not think that “dejjem inharsu l-ahjar interess tat-tfal” means that Joseph Muscat is going to give any additional adoption rights to gay couples than at present.

   I think he has found that expression convenient to actually not commit himself as to what rights he will give to gay couples.

   If one summarises what he said, he referred to existing rights, and to the protection of children’s interests. Which means that he did not commit to any new rights.

The reasoning behind this rule is perfectly logical and sound: if two people are not prepared to make a permanent commitment to each other, they are not going to be prepared to make a permanent commitment to the child together.]

   I find it interesting that a man who lives in Burmarrad chooses to stand on two districts in the south.

   Is he scared of not being elected if he stands in his home town?
