Exactly how boring is life in the General Workers Union newsroom now that the government can’t be a target anymore and investigating corruption in the Opposition isn’t exactly going to set its readership on fire?

The staff writers at the union’s news website, inews, have been reduced to beating about the bush (literally) with this enthralling report on how men like their lady-gardens trimmed.

Why do I get a sense that Labour is probably trying to save money on the Environmental Landscaping Consortium.

  2. Paddling Duck says:

In the 80s they investigated UFO sightings. Nowadays it’s fannies.

  3. ciccio says:

Maybe it is not a coincidence then that Alfred Sant has just published a book called “George Bush F’Malta.”

But then maybe it is a book about George Eyebrows.

Does iNews have any comments on the Local Examinations Board::

“After accepting the resignation of the outgoing chairman and members, Bartolo announced the new board members are Renee Laiviera, Joseph Xerri and Albert Farrugia. Rebecca Maria Gatt has been appointed board secretary.”

am i getting the sense that you have not recovered yet from last election and now you are trying to manipulate others just to try and get revenge because you still can’t accept the fact that you lost the election.
Daphne are you angry and jealous that may be I news is seen by much more people than is your blog? haven’t you yet noticed that you try to put shame on someone else, while you are the only person that the maltese people are ashamed of??

[Daphne – If you were a regular reader of this blog, you would know that as far back as March 2008 I knew that for the Nationalist Party to win this election would be impossible. I do not see politics as a competitive sport. It is not supporting the winner which interests me, but supporting the better party. I am neither vengeful nor manipulative by nature and I regard individuals who are driven by both in the same way I would observe something complex and alien. Inews is not read by ‘much more people’ than this site is: check the alexa rankings. Inews is at 20 while this site is at 25, despite the fact that inews is an official news site funded by Maltas’s major union, with a large staff, while this is one woman’s blog, with no funding and no staff. I can’t see how I can possibly be “the only person that the maltese people are ashamed of”. Most Maltese don’t read English so have no way of reading or understanding what I write, which is a prerequisite for deciding whether it is shameful or not.]

    • Neil Dent says:

      Susanna’s obviously a newbie here.

    • Galian says:

Why is it that every argument criticising the PL government is met only by a ‘have you not yet recovered from the defeat’ response by PL supporters?

      • Neil Dent says:

True, Galian. But in reality it’s the Malta Labour Party and its low-end supporters who still can’t get over it. Anyone else with half a brain would have been expecting it for the last five years, ever since the PN got in by the skin of their teeth, against an already tried-and-failed, Alfred Sant.

In that election, Labour could have had a shaved chimpanzee as ‘Kap’ and still been in with a good chance of victory – just imagine this time around.

    • H. Prynne says:

Who would be jealous of iNews? It’s a hack orgy of incompetence at best.

And it’s not Daphne you should be ashamed of, dear.

Try and think it out for yourself if you can.

  7. Antoine Vella says:

They must have employed Ignatius Farrugia as a special correspondent.

  8. marie says:

He used to wear it on his chin.

  9. H.P. Baxxter says:

I think we need Harry’s opinion on this. He is the resident expert on beaver.

    • Harry Purdie says:

Baxxter, the only beavers I know have buck teeth, flat tails, round bums and speak Canadian. They are edible, though.

      • H.P. Baxxter says:

Guard yourself against the Montreal ones. Their mating ritual consists of six hours of drinking and gibberish, followed by a large kebab. Then, smelling of beer and onions, they’ll waddle home, as you draw a sigh of relief.

      • Harry Purdie says:

Lived there for four years. Great place. Beer too.

  10. Lestrade says:

How about doing a survey or a including a question in the next National Census ?

  11. Grezz says:

That must have been inspired n Natius Ola.

  12. Cesca says:

What are you on about, Susanna? People with your mentality couldn’t possibly understand and appreciate Daphne’s blog.

It’s not a matter of getting over the election results. It is a matter of living with this embarrassing government, but then again you wouldn’t see that either.

Susanna, do yourself and us a favour and don’t read something that is beyond you.
