Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum. The word was out last week that Albert Marshall had been made chairman of PBS. A few days later and he has been ‘demoted’ already, the poor sod, to the utterly meaningless deputy chairman.
The chairman has been named officially this morning as Tonio Portuguese, a man known to most politics junkies as the moustachioed chair of countless Broadcasting Authority debates on the state broadcaster during electoral campaigns.
Min jaf x’jinqela f’zejtu, miskin. Lanqas haqq bghat li mara tieghu thanxer fuq il-video ta’ siehbu Mario Philip Azzopardi, tghid kemm temmen f’Joseph.
What a bunch of 1970s wasters.

Was there a deputy chairman before or is it a new post?
Hu ftit pacenzja Daphne ! Minghalija mhux li se jaghmel lil Jason Micallef kontu qed tghidu ? Ghandek xi tghid dwar il-hatra tas-Sur Tonio Portuguese ? Tajba jew le ???
Ara Eddy, ghadu jdur il-blogs qisu iz zugraga tal-Lejber.
X’ghandna, Edd – Rahhasulek il-kont tal-Lejber jew?
Jien tieghi iktar ghola – il-bierah ircevejtu u fejn konna bqajna anzi aktar ‘expansive’.
Prosit Eddy – il-gideb taghkom kollu hiereg.
Portughese hu wiehed minn dawk li kienu jaqdu ‘l Joseph ninn taht gol-RTK.
Kollha gew ippremjati:
Carmen Sammut
Fredrick Fearn
Tonio Portughese
Sabrina Agius
Marlene Farrugia
Baqa’ Toni Abela, u Grixti s-Sindku ta’ Haz-Zebbug … issa naraw x’se jmisshom.
I saw Ghirxi next to Franco Mercieca when he was being interviewd on TV. Anybody knows if Ghirxi is already in some secretariat?
Sur Privitera nghid jien u Tonio Portugese x’ghandu x’jaqsam bhalissa max-xandir? Illu barra hafna snin. Taf x’naf x’inghid – li Joseph Muscat qed jaghti karrigi lil dawk il-Laburisti familjari u mhux biss ta’ zmien Mintoff.
Issa anki lil Albert Marshall ser iddahhal fix-xandir.
Meantime, Konrad Mizzi imagines his own little fantasy world.
Made of gargantuan vessels over half a kilometre long. The tanker alongside five tanks would be a good 300m.
Where, in Marsaxlokk bay, can that thing maneouvre itself, is incredibly ambitious. Not to mention the risk of having it free of its moorings during the notorious south-easterly swell.
Dream on Konrad. And don’t tell us you’ll have some investor building a miniature one for us.

And it’s liquified NATURAL gas, James, not liquified national gas. tsk.
Is the Mayor of Marsaxlokk (and for that matter of Birzebbugia and Zejtun) demanding compliance to the Seveso Convention? Or have they never heard about it?
Haha that’s a good one, but perhaps he WAS referring to national gas, of which there is currently a limitless supply in the form of hot air.
Labour had promised to publish its detailed studies on the gas plant soon after the elections but have so far failed to do so.

Hu go fik, Jane. Tsk.
Forsi xi parventu ohra din, jaghmlu chairman wara ftit xhur/snin
IL-Euros u l-pensjoni li akkwistaw Mr &Mrs Marshall fit-tlett snin li hadmu mal-Kummissjoni Ewropea fil-Lussemburgu, ma kinux bizzejjed.
Le ahtaf kemm tiflah tghidlu dik.
Marru tajjeb il-Laburisti taht in-Nazzjonalisti – imma dawn iridu jitkellmu?
U Jane Marshall tiehu sehem f’xi play fin-Notte Bianca, grazzi ghall–opportunitajiet taht il-PN. Kienu mahqurin hafna jahasra.
Oh sorry, you were referring to Alfred Grixti not Frans Ghirxi. My mistake!
The above was meant in addition to my reply to my comment to Gahan.
Wasn’t Edward Scicluna chair of BA debates during the eighties just like Tonio Portuguese? No Nationalist would have stepped foot into the premises of Xandir Malta during the eighties.
