…raising a point we missed, and posted by Louis Amato-Gauci:

As Ambassador to the United States, Ms Micallef will likely also serve as High Commissioner for Malta in Canada.

I would have thought that with an historic free trade agreement now pending between Canada and the EU, and a much larger one to follow shortly between the United States and the EU, what Malta needs in Ottawa and Washington is a skilled diplomat and a consummate professional.

This is precisely not the time for some misguided patronage appointment.

These choices are probably put forward by the fantastic MLP historian Head of the Civil Service is-sur Cutajar and endorsed by the hard core seasoned socialist Dottor Vella who has already showed his diplomatic mettle before, in KMB’s and Sant’s time especially, with PfP’s mission and EU visions of a foolish brain. So there you have names such as Ms Micallef Leyson who should mix well over a lunch with the Georgetown Lobbyists in DC and the Mike Duffys in Ottawa. As for the diplomacy in action, a glorified travel agent for London and a Super One quacker for Belgium…enough for one day. The liberal switchers might have thought that the cushy and non-productive figurehead postings in foreign embassies were a thing of the past.

The Castille cretins keep surprising us NOT with their choices of brilliant minds. Keep at it. They seem to be mostly concerned in satisfying the Taghna Lkoll brigade of PL diehards within the Maltese communities in North America and Britain. The next announcement would be to name who goes to the outpost in Australia. Good on ya mate.

Why do I have a feeling that this governemt is trying to eradicate what the previous administration did…in a very subtle way?

Ah, but now JosephPL are eyeing China & North Korea more than the USA & Canada. Do not forget the left-leaning is alive and kicking harder than ever before.
