Silence so far from Robert Musumeci

Robert Musumeci

Robert Musumeci and Norman Vella are first cousins. Musumeci comments about everything in politics, on Facebook and the blog he writes for the General Workers Union internet newspaper, iNews.

But so far he has said nothing in public about the way his buddy Joseph sacked his cousin Norman so spitefully.

He’s lying low, hedging his bets, not wanting to step too far out of line, what with the Justice Ministry job up for grabs and his haten Jose Herrera desperate to get his hands on it.

Lou Bondi’s silence is more deafening than Musumeci’s.

More than six hours have elapsed and still no resignation.

What’s he waiting for – Christmas?

Hallih lir-Robert, Daphne. Dak mohhu fil-moviment.

Dak mhux Laburist minghalih, imma parti minn ‘moviment’ – u lil Norman il-Laburisti ghamlulu vendikazzjoni.

Il-moviment m’ghandux x’jaqsam mal-vendikazzjonijiet. Ghax Joseph kap tal-Partit Laburista u kap ta’ moviment li jdur ma’ partit.

Robert m’ghandux x’jaqsam miskin. Ghax Robert ghadu jemmen li muhiex Laburist.

  3. Min Weber says:

Norman is a silly man, and that programme was beyond his abilities (as I have already previously said).

The fact that he defined the termination of his contract as “political” confirms that what he was doing was pro-PN. And that exaggerated pro-PN stance of his wreaked a lot of electoral havoc.

Be quiet Norman – you’re just a pruzuntuz.

[Daphne – I am afraid your reasoning is seriously flawed. He was sent back to the Dept of Immigration because HE IS pro-PN and not because his WORK is. It’s the same reason Natalino Fenech (votes PN) was replaced as head of news by Reno Bugeja (votes Labour).]

    • Tinu says:

Weber, you must have some grudge towards Norman, as he is neither silly nor a pruzuntuz. I know the real reasons why he was fired from TV Hemm and those are surely not because the programme was beyond his abilities.

  4. edgar says:

Excuse me Min Weber. But Norman is not a silly man. He is definitely the best presenter and the most well-prepared journalist on TV. Could it be that Lou is happy that his ‘competitor’ is now out of the way and that is why he is keeping his mouth shut?

  5. GiovDeMartino says:

I think that the word “veto” humorously and maybe sarcastically used by Norman Vella yesterday was the straw that broke the camel’s back. With Labour you have to be extremely careful with every word you use.

    • maryanne says:

Can you please tell us exactly what Norman said.

      • Victor says:

Yes, would be good to know what he said, as a Labour supporter wrote a comment on The Malta Independent page on Facebook, that he knew Norman Vella had committed suicide by what he said.

Albeit, one had to take some time to decipher the comment, as the spelling in English was atrocious.

      • GiovDeMartino says:

What he said exactly I cannot say. It was friendly discussion -I don’t know the details because I was not really watching the programme, but it was certainly something like this: For example only…jekk , p.e ma ggibilniex il-kafe, nuzaw il-veto.. I repeat: This is only an example.

    • maryanne says:

Thank you. So it was just a light comment.

Damn, we’re not allowed to joke anymore. No wonder those attending Labour gatherings look as if their death sentence is being read out to them.

      • observer says:

The ‘veto’ question was resurrected again by il-ginger the other day when he somehow ‘threatened’ the rest of the E.U. members to use it on un-related issues if they do not support his way of dealing with Malta’s problems re. illegal immigration.

I consider neither il-ginger’s stance nor any observations about it as a ‘joke’ issue.

Now Joseph has got rid of two persons from the media who used to ask some inquisitive and probing questions that put the emperor on the hot seat. To one he gave a small sweetener, to the other he gave the sack

Innutajt li Pierre Portelli kellu l-kuragg li jikteb kumment fuq facebook il-bierah.

Fejn huma Peppi Azzopardi, Lou Bondi, Musumeci u gurnalisti ohrajn tal PBS?

    Qed jibzaw jifthu halqhom?
