Manuel Mallia’s chief of staff, Silvio Scerri, has taken to parking his chauffeur-driven ZERO88 personal BMW (which he is paid to use) in the parking space for disabled drivers, in front of the Police, Army and Broadcasting Ministry, where the soldier on guard duty can keep a careful eye on it.

Anybody who doesn’t know who he is can be safely certified as having a disability.

Can’t believe that people can change so much. I remember Silvio as one of the canvassers of Dr. Ugo Mifsud Bonnici prior to the 1987, 1992 elections.

Actually, can the “Do You Know Who I Am” Chief of Staff of the Ministry for the Police, the Army, Broadcasting and Outside Catering adopt his personal car as the official car, taking our money as compensation for its use, while he advertises the brand underlying his personal business on the number plate? Did he or did he not, as Chief of Staff, detach himself from his personal business?
Isn’t this a flagrant conflict of interest and breach of ethics?
What deduction from any compensation he takes for using his car has been made by the government for the advertising services permitted on that car? And how is VAT being treated on that advertising?
Try sending someone with a hidden camera who has a disabled licence, and see what happens.
