  1. Brimbu says:

Mr Engerer has every right to contest the MEP elections as and how he wishes.

I have every right to vote for those that make sense and who’s past performance used as their credentials.

Voters are to be careful of individuals whose ego reaches dizzying heights, just because they had some media exposure. Beware, we cannot afford incompetent or outright idiots as MEP representatives.

    • Alexander Ball says:

Yeah but people charged with fraud are fine.

    • M. Cassar says:

Credentials are a bit difficult to assess when the law of the land suppresses information by granting the right for a case to be heard behind closed doors.

    • Calculator says:

I think Ms Caruana Galizia’s not saying anything about either Mr Engerer’s right to contest the MEP elections or your right to vote for him. Her point seems to that Mr Engerer is using his experience as former PN mayor rather than his current poistion with Labour as credentials, to contest the MEP elections on behalf of the PL.

      • Brimbu says:

My point exactly. He started with one party and changed according to his personal needs.

Is this the kind of person I want representing me?

  2. Mr Meritocracy says:

Conveniently, the poster doesn’t say that he’ll be contesting under the Labour ticket now.

Is this a case of already ashamed of being Labour?

  3. Josette says:

Actually, going by what he did to his former boyfriend, a criminal who is lucky that his victim dropped the charges. But does Labour care?

  4. matt says:

How can this guy show his face in public? What an embarrassment. Can’t the MLP find people who are exemplary and capable to represent us in the EU?

    • Calculator says:

I guess that would be a resounding NO.

    • observer says:

To find ‘exemplary and capable’ people to represent Malta in the European Parliament is not, has never been, and will never been, within Labour’s remit, potential or ability.

The only people they can find to represent THEMSELVES are people of their own ilk!

  5. gil says:

Why do they keep calling them the MEP elections? They are the EP elections.

It is kind of like saying ‘tern on di errrkondixxins’ or saying ‘I need to go to the ATM machine’, thus saying machine twice.
