Jason Micallef and his V18 committee meet the President, and David Felice is nowhere to be seen

V18 1

V18 2

Do you see former V18 chairman anywhere in these pictures which the Department of Information has just released?

That’s right – I don’t either.

Instead we get the sordid and outdated Albert Marshall, and a few other people who look as though their idea of V18 is a cross between a tal-Muzew outing and a rerun of Il-Madonna tac-Coqqa (c 1976).

Jason Micallef said at that meeting that he would like George Abela to work with the committee once his term of office is over.

Why am I not surprised.

I did tell you that what we are seeing here is the formation of two distinct cliques in government: the power-clique headed by the unassailable Jason Micallef (Abela/Herrera/Charlon Gouder/tentatively also Manuel Mallia) and the power-clique headed by the prime minister (everyone else).

Jason Micallef is wearing his trademark brown shoes.

    The inside leg strikes again.

They must have taken the pictures when David nipped out to the bathroom.

    tentatively also Manuel Mallia…

Why is he included? I was even surprised to learn that Consuelo invited him for her festa party.

Didn’t he ‘steal’ her brother’s coveted ministerial post?

[Daphne – The initial contact between Muscat and Mallia was made via the Herreras.]

    Culture written all over.

    Very inspirational.

  6. Galian says:

Micallef said that he asked Abela to work with the committee because he is a symbol of unity in the country. If Abela is a symbol of unity then I am Lady Gaga!

‘Sordid and outdated Albert Marshall’. I must admit that your previous title of ‘old fart’ suits him much better.

And bang on cue for the Herrera/Micallef/Mallia faction, Robert Musumeci writes about the ‘coordinated attacks on Manuel Mallia’, for the General Workers Union site:

“L-istrategisti li gew fdati biex jimminaw lil dan il-gvern ”

U Robert Musumeci xi jsejhilhom lill dawk li imminaw il-gvern precedenti?

You were right about Musumeci and who is the dominant half.

Tonight at the US embassy party, he behaved like a poodle following and walking behind his master whenever she goes.

He was constantly playing/texting on his mobile like a (fat) little boy, while walking behind his partner/boss. The only thing missing was a whip, a harness or a leash.

  9. Wilson says:

    More like a power click.

  10. P Shaw says:

The person sitting/standing to the left og ALbert Marshall in both pictures is Stephen Xuereb, an MLP activist for the last 20 years.

He formed part of a core group of activists during the last campaign.

Yes, he is Stephen Xuereb. He is the chief financial officer of Valletta Cruise Port plc, and the one next to him is Stephen Vella, director at MCAST Art and Design.

Yes, the formation of two cliques, definitely.

Moses divided the Red sea in two. His successor, Joseph, divided the Red Malta Labour Party in two.

  12. Jar Jar says:

Mallia has too much power – he potentially has everyone (Muscat included) by the balls.
