The Police Minister and Sandro Chetcuti

Is there any link between the half a million euros in cash that the Police Minister has floating around at home and his very informal meeting, accompanied by his wife and children and wearing a red T-shirt, with the notorious developer Sandro Chetcuti yesterday at noon at the Excelsior Hotel?
Will he be investing any of that money with Chetcuti? What does either of them want from the other?

Property Developer Sandro Chetcuti could become handy to Minister Mallia. He might be ready to vouch that Minister Mallia sold him a property and that will explain the half a million cash he had stacked away at home. Even if this is not true and no property was ever sold buddies are expected to stand for each other in time of need.
Property Developer Sandro Chetcuti gained his notoriety when he had his brush with the taxman.

Last April the plan was to have revised local plans. Last week it was decided to do away with these.
The majority of Maltese voted democratic representation and its mechanics out. What we got ourselves is splintered power each working towards its own ends.
Mallia’s rise to power seems unstoppable, he may have become Muscat’s Bormann, precious information nailing everyone filed away.
Difficult … in Malta all transfers of immovable property have to be registered. Otherwise, legally, there is no transfer.
Dr Mallia did declare that he had “property in Romania.” Up to just a few years ago, prior to admission to European Union, property is this country was relatively cheap and many, including Maltese, bought at rather low prices.
Now prices have rocketed. Could Dr Mallia have sold his property in Romania? And is there any way this can be checked in this country? And where in Romania was his property? How much property did he own there?

Dr. Mallia listed the property in Romania AND the Euro 500,000 in cash on the same declaration of assets. So the Euro 500,000 is unrelated to the property in Romania which was listed on his declaration.

Turning everything on its head.
A detailed price index, don’t we have that already? Just ask a reputable estate agent and they’ll come up with the price range.
And who, pray, gets to determine the criteria? I wouldn’t be seen dead in a 60’s bungalow along the Qawra waterfront, just not my lifestyle.
I think Madliena’s pathetic, flats, anywhere, claustrophobic, Gozo utterly useless and highrise impossible in a country still nowhere near the required grade of concrete.
I also think soffits primitive, lift shafts a waste of space and ‘modern’ layouts horrible.
There, work those out Sandro.
So ‘old’ property’s overpriced eh? Bet you can’t wait to get your hands on it, ‘develop’ the gardens. And how dare village cores exist with their exquisite climate control, sense of space and manipulation of light? Not to mention an innate sense of beauty and grace, humble they may be?
Stick to your trade Chetcuti, as if I’ll ever give consideration to anything you’ll say.
But the government has taken the proposals on board and Sandro feels very confident that this price index will be drawn up.
Was this promised to Sandro & Co, before the election?
