MALTA IS LIBYA’S NEW MOUTHPIECE IN BRUSSELS
Only a month after joining the European Union, Malta has stepped ahead of Italy as Libya’s prime champion in Brussels. Malta foreign minister John Dalli is doing his utmost to see that Europe lifts its arms embargo on Tripoli.
He also travelled to Washington to intervene in compensation talks between Libya and American oil companies whose interests were nationalized by Muammar Kadhafi in the 1970s.

Now, when we put things into the context of all we have learned since, we have to wonder why John Dalli did this. Was he pursuing Malta’s interests or his own?
The Gaddafi regime did not distinguish between business and politics. Business was controlled by key figures in the regime, who got involved and took a cut.
They would have seen nothing strange about politicians from Malta doing the same thing. That might be why Karmenu Vella – until recently chairman of a LAFICO-owned group of companies – got a lift home on Gaddafi’s private jet with Joseph Muscat last August.

The pieces of the puzzle are coming nicely together now.
The more time passes and things are revealed. the more ‘FISHY’ all this mess gets. As you said Daphne, I’m proud to have never voted PL..now more than ever!
Completely agree…can’t imagine what’s going through the minds of some of the switchers.
They deserve to suffer for every shameful thing these people are and will keep on putting us through. We, on the other hand, are and will suffer because of them.
Is Malta, the EU’s new puppet for China?
China tried, to no avail, to bail out Greece during the last three years. However, the Greeks stuck to the troika (IMF, EC, and ECB) even though the conditions were seemingly harsher.
Did China impose any conditions that were not cceptable to Greece, an EU country, irrispective of how much desperate they were?
China was shipping container loads of arms and munitions to Gaddafi via Algeria until the final stages of the revolution.
Remember Dalli’s gratuitious comments about the Libyan people and how they deserve to be ruled.
And remember Labour’s silence throughout and Muscat’s confidential ‘memo of understanding with the Chinese Communist Party.

My only regret is that I voted for Dalli in 2008.
Why so shy to name the LAFICO owned Group of Companies? This is one thing that Karmenu Vella and John Dalli have in common – they both worked for this company.
