And even the Police Board isn’t safe from highly dubious Malta Taghna Lkoll appointments…

The Police Board is holding an urgent enquiry into the arraignment of a man for armed robbery, earlier this week, when another man had already owned up to the crime.

The Police Minister is away on holiday and his personal appointee, friend and caterer, the Police Commissioner, has been interviewed by the Police Board already.

I was struck by three of the names of the Police Board members. One of them is David Farrugia Sacco, a failed Labour Party candidate in this general election, and the star of many a Labour press conference in the election campaign.

Another is Deandra Schembri, a 27-year-old bottle-blonde married to 27-year-old Labour MP Silvio Schembri, who unseated his uncle Charles Mangion by campaigning on the pro-hunting ticket and who has been appointed head of the parliamentary committee on economic affairs (the Governor of the Central Bank must report on matters to this twerp). Deandra Schembri, a lawyer, is employed with the law practice of Economy Minister Chris Cardona and PBS lawyer Mark Vassallo.

And the third is Keith Chetcuti, who runs Nexos – the lighting, sound and conference/exhibition set-up company owned by Police Minister Manuel Mallia’s chief of staff, Silvio ‘Do You Know Who I Am’ Scerri. He is now Police Board secretary.

Smashing. All of them staunch Labourites, bar the chairman. No prizes for guessing the outcome.

How does Minister Mallia come into this? Shouldn’t he resign?

  7. Gel says:

Victor Gruppetta, the black sheep of the Gruppetta family, who has been licking Varist’s behind and inviting him for lunch at the Marsa Sports Club. Staunch Laburist of late, but he was one of Guido Demarco’s supporters.

No more talk about political responsibility.
