Minister Chris Cardona’s Malta Taghna Lkoll appointments to the board of Gozo Heliport Ltd

In a recent issue of the Government Gazette:

GOZO HELIPORT LIMITED

The Minister for Economy, Investment and Small Business appointed the Board of Gozo Heliport Limited up to 31st July, 2014 as follows –

Chairperson
Dr Rachel Montebello

Directors
Mrs Angela Psaila
Mrs Christina Sammut

5th August, 2013

Rachel Montebello is a lawyer who shares an office with Ramona ‘Labour Billboard’ Frendo. Her father is the (now fortunately retired) heavy-drinking, Labour-voting and dissolute Gozo magistrate Denis Montebello. She’s nothing like him, but I’m not comfortable with the Gozo connection.

If this is the Angela Psaila I know, then she’s the daughter of Anglu Psaila, Mintoff’s personal doctor and denizen of Labour television and radio talk shows. She is not Mrs Psaila, but Miss or Ms.

She was recruited by Air Wistin Abela back in the Golden Years (we are exactly the same age and were at primary school together, incidentally) and was on the Air Supplies pay-roll until 2006. When Air Supplies was sold to the private sector, she was asked to leave. Angela is currently a local councils candidate for the Labour Party, on the 12th district, and works for Ablecare Oilfield Services.

If we do not have any helicopters operating to Gozo – why is the company still active ? And what is their remuneration?

    • Last Post says:

Maybe they’re thinking of reviving it or transforming it for landings of small aircraft (which was already tried and failed).

Talk of beating a dead horse, for which you, of course, need people to do the beating…

      • Antisocial(ist) says:

Nope … It’s to re establish an air link to Gozo and then the new chairman can fly up and down to see her daddy whenever she likes. That’s how these people get their “payback” – just wait and see. Probably serve iced buns on the way up and down too. Malta taghna lkoll, my left (socialist) foot.

    • Stephen Forster says:

That’s what I was thinking, the service has been closed for years.

  2. Sam Gangee says:

Why is this company not defunct when there is no helicopter service between Malta and Gozo?

    • Last Post says:

It’s just an excuse to bake (or is it ‘thaw’?) enough buns for the Malta Taghna Lkoll batches (there are so many of them, remember). If the others did it why not us too?

Forget now, that they used to criticise the previous administration about the mushrooming of boards, councils, advisers and whatnot that were squeezing the taxpayers’ money.

It’s all for the money and that is why we now realise that since the election it’s Malta Taghna Biss.

    Bord ta x’hiex?

There are no helicopters operating in Gozo.

The heliport has been closed for the last 3 or 4 years.

Xewk u abbandun hemm kemm trid.

  4. rjc says:

    Gozo Heliport?

    Why does it still exist?

  5. Michael Seychell says:

Too much is too much. Can anyone tell us how much the buns for a number of bums are costing our country?

  6. anthony says:

Chris Cardona is a very wise man.

He appointed three of his lady friends to the board of a practically defunct company.

There is no way that they can create any problems for him.

    He has learnt his lesson.

    He is playing doubly safe.

  7. Hufflepuff says:

Why the heck do we need a Gozo Heliport Ltd? What are it’s objectives and mission statement? Can a US navy seal helicopter land on it?

Can we embarrass ourselves anymore? Can I create my own state-funded limited liability company? Do I have to strip naked and hold a violin?

  8. bookworm says:

Rachel Montebello, Franco Debono, Edward Zammit Lewis, Chris Cardona, were all on the same law course. Il-ligi taghna lkoll.
