So now we know…

…that when Lara Boffa-Billboard was presented to us by the Labour Party as a highflying executive, and put on its billboards and campaign collateral, in its videos (see below) and under its tent, in that capacity, she was registered as unemployed with the ETC.

See my previous post.

And another thing: she was selected for the interview by the ETC because she was on their list of registered unemployed. But she was an Enemalta director at the time. Yes, it’s not a full-time position, but for God’s sake.

Yes, this government put a registered unemployed person on the board of directors of Enemalta Corporation, and that director kept on registering as unemployed, even while she holding the directorship. It’s Through the Looking-Glass. Again.

I wonder who will be doing the whistle-blowing when Labour legislate to silence this site under the pretext of censuring cyber-bullying.

[Daphne – No government can legislate to ‘silence this site’. It’s legally impossible. And as I already made clear on election eve, there is no obligation to obey laws which are unConstitutional, and which are by very definition illegal in themselves, and I have no intention of doing so.]

    • ciccio says:

We can call for an abrogative referendum if such a law is passed.

    • Lorry says:

      That’s the spirit Daphne

    • Philip says:

Thank goodness for that. Old orange pants had me worried for a minute.

    • Guzi says:

Oh yes! I would like to see the Labour government trying to silence this website! That would be something to see.

    • kev says:

Bush and Obama have managed to pass a multitude of laws that are unconstitutional and it’s as if nothing sinister is happening.

Today, most pundits would claim that the US Constitution is just a dated document, and, to boot, “Constitutionalists” are listed on the potential-terrorist list issued to Homeland Security and law enforcement thugs who think they’re running the place.

  2. Lorry says:

These people have no shame or scruples.

  3. Catherine says:

I can’t help but think, seeing all of this, and given the fact that Lara Boffa knew it all, what a bimbo and/or brazen hussy she is telling you to go through ETC to do your research.

[Daphne – Neither. Low IQ. You would be surprised (well, no, I don’t think so) just what a problem that is in Malta. It manifests itself in the low pass rate, right across the islands, in maths examinations.]

    • MojoMalti says:

Or maybe she felt protected by the system, smugly thinking that the ETC is ‘taghna wkoll’, and didn’t count on your famous network blowing her cover.

  5. ciccio says:

The matter should be raised in Parliament and an enquiry into the appointment process should be carried out by the relevant independent body.

Who is the Minister in charge of the MCST?

    [Daphne – The prime minister.]

    • ciccio says:

Ah, so this hnizrija (majjalata) is the direct responsibility of Joseph Muscat.

      Where is the independent media?

    • Lorry says:

“should be carried out by the relevant independent body”

There are no such independent bodies left i’m afraid ciccio

  6. curious says:

How is she qualified to sit on the Audit Committee?

    Board of Directors

    Enemalta Corporation

Public Company; 1001-5000 employees; Matières premières industry

    April 2013 – Present (5 months)

    Appointed to Enemalta Audit Committee

[Daphne – While registering as unemployed.]

  7. Kevin Zammit says:

And by putting herself on the list of registered unemployed, she helped inflate the unemployment figure under the previous government.

Lara Boffa high-jump record: from dole to director.

  15. Josette says:

In a way, I pity her. The only thing which she appears to have going for her is her name and some (temporary) physical attractiveness. No intelligence and no forward thinking.

I detest the manner in which she has squeezed what she could out of her family’s good reputation in Malta and, in the process, risked destroying that reputation.

But, I think that she is just parroting behaviour and opinions learned from her mother and her mother’s family – Zejtun Mintoffians from a very different socio-educational background.

There will be a time – maybe there already is? – when she’ll start realising the mistakes she made.

    • Pull it off says:

What physical attractiveness? You haven’t seen her in her au naturel state…face shaped like a horse’s and pale white.

  16. pale blue my foot! says:

Lara Billboard? More like Lara Bloodsucker.

  17. Pluribus says:

I love women, am twice married etc. To say that Lara Goffa is attractive is like swearing in church. She looks like a boxer to me.
